To Leakers (on the safety of the project)
Added 2021-07-30 04:33:17 +0000 UTCWelcome again to those from f95zone. If you aren't aware, I've been taking suggestions from that forum for more than a year now, and often posting as well.
I wrote a post there today that was meant to explain my stance on leakers, but I decided to cut it down significantly for the game's safety. As with any NTR game, there are some staunch opponents to this game who strongly believe it should be taken down. The difference is, this game actually CAN be taken down by opponents, quite easily. I cut the following paragraph from the forum post because I thought it might give them ammunition if I were to share it publicly. But I have vastly greater trust in my patrons than I have in the public.
Leaks ordinarily wouldn't bother me. The game is meant to be free after all. I may have my problems with pirates who complain about glitches, despite the fact it's an unfinished game, but my main concern is the game's opponents. Every time this game gets shared, I get more NTR haters threatening to report it to N*ntendo. The more reports, the greater the threat, and I expect a DMCA any day now, at which point the game might be completely canned.
You may have noticed that I rarely post on twitter anymore. That's because I feel the game is nearing a relatively complete state, and I'd prefer to keep it developing steadily the way it is until then, with the patreon support I've currently got.
I actually agree that leaking the game promotes growth, but I don't necessarily want too much public growth right now. I haven't posted publicly in a long time because I don't want to expose the game to hundreds of new potential opponents. The bigger the game gets, the bigger the chance it has of being found by a certain legal team. That's not to say I don't appreciate new patrons. I'm willing to bet patrons won't be reporting the game, lol. But now that I'm getting DMCA threats on my twitter, I've decided the game just isn't ready to be shared with the public until it's in a worthy state. I value the project over trying to increase earnings.
Recently, Gh0stVX has been working with me to help reach a solution, which aims to make the game legally sound. If we can actually get the game to that point, I would have no issue at all with the game being leaked and shared around, but right now I need to focus on the game's legal safety. I've received more threats since the leak, and I believe if you want to see this game through, then leaking it is throwing it under the bus.

Thank you for reading. As a side note, the legal solution I'm working towards will not alter the contents of the game. I just hope we can develop it quickly enough. But if this game ever does get canned, there will always be other games from me. And you patrons will determine which girls I'll feature.
You might start seeing changes to the page at some point. But remember, as much as my patreon and social pages change, the content of the game will never be altered for legal reasons. Anyway, if you have any ideas or comments, I encourage you to share your thoughts below. I always love to hear from you all.

I know that this post isn't about any of the builds but I find it weird that Peach takes what seems to be an accusatory "How did he get there so fast." with a "I dunno." I don't know why but I like the idea of Bowser seeding doubt into the princess like "Wow, he thinks your cheating on him. He really isn't a good guy. Must be trying to usurp your rule after 'rescuing' you." and things like that to erode her trust in Mario so that if Mario goes "He's trying to kidnap you," she can go, "I'm not being kidnapped, I'm going with him because he's a better person than you." Then have Peach slowly realize that she was tricked.

2021-08-08 02:59:22 +0000 UTCI completely forgot about the potential legal issues... It's sad that there are people who could try to take the game down if given the chance. Personally, I don't like NTR, but this game is not only about that and honestly, if people like it, good for them!

2021-07-30 08:16:08 +0000 UTCIt sucks but I know for a fact that what you're saying is true. Take the steps you need to to ensure the game finishes completion, once it finishes hopefully you'll get a surge of growth to reward you for doing so. Either way, fingers crossed. It sucks for everyone involved here if the game gets DMCA'd after all.

2021-07-30 05:35:24 +0000 UTCThank you! Personally, I can easily see a puritanical person thinking that way. NTR is honestly sinful and dark, but that to me is what makes it an escape. Some of these opponents were actually open minded enough to the fact that the game is a cautionary tale of fighting for your princess, and you can actually win if you fight hard enough. That's a pure message to take into the real world. But there is also the dark fantasy of letting it all go to ruin. But hopefully that can be channelled harmlessly into a game.

2021-07-30 05:07:32 +0000 UTCIt amazes me that there are people out there who would go so far as reporting this to legal teams. They literally gain no benefit from doing that and are just doing it because they don’t like the basis of the game which is so petty! It’ not like the game is just purely NTR, there is mario content too so I don’t know what these haters are complaining for. I hope you find a solution to this anyway, it’d suck if you had to can this idea after all your hard work
