Town Square [20x40]

Sun pierced through the old patched drapes. It overcame all the obstacles – clouds, birds, trees and buildings to and hit my eyelid with surgical precision. I bear thin faith in coincidence so I got up. My eyes met with the unkempt stranger in the mirror – my hair was a bouquet of messy grey-black finger-thick and arm-long noodles while my beard was probably shier than I am. Few wild hairs piercing through my skin were as weak as my will to shave it.

My companion was already up. We shared the room because Stype thought we were dead and sold our room away. He was surprised when he saw us; not shocked or disbelieving that we were actually alive – he had to explain why he sold our room for a few hundred silver. I earned my room on a poker game a while back. He was never happy about that.

Grizkh was childishly excited. Today was a Tribunal Thursday, a long and bloody day of constant neck snapping on the gallows of the Flower Square. They cover the flower-beds with wooden gallows, execute a few dozen petty criminals, call it a day while calling it justice. The mess that follows is the auction of dead men's belongings. Grizkh always bought trinkets.

He was the only Half-Orc that had a permit of being in Tressard, and he tried to fit in.

The morning sun pierced our eyes as the marble of the square began to heat. Common folk started frequenting the square, armed with rotten fruit and occasional hidden stone. I always get an elevated place across the gallows where I can drink in peace, while Grizkh spends my money.

As the first convicts were dragged on the gallows, with burlap sacks over the heads, I tasted the ale I brought. Executioner took the sacks from their heads. He was beaten and tortured, but his smirk was impossible to wash away.

Mank, you stupid thief, what did you do now?

New map! Our take on city streets begins with this spacious Town Square. Plenty of possibilities here: either a rooftop shootout, hide n' seek in the narrow city streets or simply a big fight with guards who (wrongfully, we're sure) took your innocent rogue!
