Colosseum [40x30]

The only thing folk of Torncastle had left is watching someone else die in pain. Once a glorious and mighty city that stood alone against the Warlords, nowadays provides a cheap sanctuary to cutthroats, thieves and murderers.

Knowing that Grizkh was here before was somewhat comforting. He knew the bowels of the old town better than I knew the back of my hand: he knew who to intimidate and to whom to bow. He was the brain here, his street wisdom leading us through the stench and rot of scarcely populated slums.

As the air was clearing and the smell was more pleasant, he stopped and placed a heavy bag of gold in the hands of a beggar. I was stunned. He gave all our gold to him. I wanted to protest but I followed him to one of the, I thought, many squares. The magnificent stone wonder emerged in front of me, sun reflecting on marble, blinding my eyes.

He placed his huge hand on me.

"Aaron, don't be mad at me. The best bet is on team fights."

I gave him a puzzled look. He smiled.

"Two on two-and-more. I placed everything we have on us. We need money."

Trumpets blared and the crowd cheered. Torncastle Colosseum was the beating heart of the city. As if we emerged from a bad dream to some heroic tale. Stories don't tell about shaky knees and watery stomach. They don't tell the smell of death, only the roses and gold and glory.

If this is my final entry, know that I fell in the sands of the great colosseum. If not, wizard and warrior will be new Champions. There is no middle ground.

Dear all,

This is simply The Colosseum, a gladiator and fighting ground inspired by the ancient arena in Pula, Croatia. A wonder in the Northern Adriatic is one of the most overlooked Roman legacies, which is carefully taken care of and still holds the movie festivals and concerts due to the excellent acoustic setup.

We wanted to pay the tribute and explore the real-life locations that can be interpreted into battlemaps.
