2025-03-24 07:12:27 +0000 UTCThat's why I'm telling you. No proper security - in other words, being in possession of the link from the mail notification circumvents what they call security. A bit like the moronic system on tinysquishy's azure stuff where a simple link can carry a pass-all token circumventing the target item's ACL. In the patreon case, removing all the tracking parameters (which make up 88% of the link's size) results in the proper behaviour including the NSFW check (also including the inane cloudfart "browser check", the crap excluding people with disabilities, only allowing a pass when operated with a normal mouse, e.g. keyboard input is rejected, so most systems blind or paralytic people use will be kept out as well), otherwise any patron sharing their mail or copying around the links in it will bypass the system. Testing is easy using incognito mode, btw. Sorry for rambling on.

Megaera living in the mortal world would probably mean it's Vilga's future.
