Primordial

Wanted to do draw my miqo'te in between commissions so here she is.

This is one of those that went in a completely different direction from what I had in mind at first. It was actually supposed to be a bunny suit pic, but after finishing the sketch I was looking at it and felt like trying another outfit so I gave her a top and shorts similar to what she was wearing in "Shaaloani".

Then I thought maybe Ill do the desert setting again too, but that wasnt working either, so the idea came to mind of her being on a tree in the middle of a jungle or something with that wild/ tribal/primitive kind of feel. Its something Ive always loved and I knew she would pull it off. So then all I had to do was change the clothes to the leopard print to complete the look, and I think the pose also plays into the wild animal thing which is part of why I went for this scene (also as everyone knows people definitely wore sunglasses in prehistory so thats historically accurate... seriously though, they were meant to go with the modern outfit but somehow they still look great here so I kept them).

This was a pretty intimidating one to do at first because I knew what I wanted but I hadnt done this kind of thing in a while but I just slowly built up the scene as I was coloring it, adding more elements here and there and playing a lot with the position of the plants to make sure it resulted in a nice detailed composition while keeping the focus completely on her.

For the colors Im still wondering if I made it a bit too green, but then its a jungle so... Its supposed to be green? I did go for a very warm green though and I think it looks very consistent overall with her looking like she is part of the environment almost.

And once again the shading helps a lot. I tried to apply more of what I did with Riza and yeah it really seems to be working, she just has so much depth here and overall it looks both detailed and soft which is always the goal.

Its probably also my favorite pic of hers so far especially in terms of face/expression and body shape, with that usual confidence and a bit of a thicker look (especially with the legs) so Ill try to do more of that in the future.
