New Elin commission, one of those nice dress pics that always work well as phone wallpaper (which was the goal from the start).

For this one I wanted to try changing her hair a bit and making it longer, just a bit below the shoulders. I dont know if its specifically because of how well it goes with the dress here but it looks so good I was like "why didnt I think of this before?". I just loved it right away.

It also took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do with the dress because Im always thinking about it from the perspective of the character, taking into account their personality and what they would wear. I wanted it to be cute and casual, with a summer touch to it, plus have it be white and pink since those are generally the colors she wears and it matches the hair the best (as well as the blossom earrings).

For the shoes I went with low block heels which tend to be my favorite because you get the usual elegance of heels but with a more casual look along with them being more practical too. For characters like this its perfect since I couldnt imagine her wearing stilettos or anything like that, it would look really out of place. And then the straps and such give it the usual cute look too that compliments the dress so I think it all comes together nicely.

The thing that gave me a lot of trouble was the scene itself. I went through a bunch of different things and just couldnt find anything I was happy with until I landed on this. Took me a long time to tweak the colors into something I liked, especially because I wanted to get that evening vibe where it feels like the night is just about to start so its kinda dark but also bright due to all the lights from the city around her and the sun still being up. And I really like bokeh lights so it was a nice excuse to include them.

But thats about it. Always enjoy drawing Elin and this was no exception. Probably wont be the last one.
