For this one I mostly wanted to do something with legs/feet focus and more of a perspective view, which is always very tricky to pull off.
As with most pics lately, the sketch went very smoothly but the coloring didnt. In fact originally she wasnt supposed so be wearing the pantyhose, but something about it wasnt working and after a long time messing around I figured it was probably the fact the pic had 2 focus points clashing with each other which made it really annoying to look at. My take is always that if the face isnt the first thing you look at, then I did something wrong.
So after a long time of trying different things not knowing what the problem was at the time, I ended up adding the pantyhose and yeah, the way they darken the legs completely fixed the problem. Plus its something thats always fun to do and Im always looking to improve it, trying to get that super soft look with the sheer texture that lets the skin color through especially on the parts where the fabric is most stretched (usually the thighs).
Other than that I also wanted to take the chance to dress her up in something else I like which is that kind of mini dress with lace sleeves attached. There is also a similar look where you would use a mini jacket instead but for this one I definitely wanted to go with the lace.
And I did bring back the glasses too. I havent figured out the logic to it yet but there are some pics where they fit really well and some where they dont, I guess it has to do with the overall outfit. Either way, this was one of those so as soon as I tried it I knew Id keep them.
Overall Im still not too happy with the final look in terms of colors/lighting and I definitely dont like it as much as the previous one, but I spent way too long on it and just wanted to move on since there so many other things to do.
This week I mostly just sketched a bunch new things aside from working on another commission, and Im very happy with all of them but yeah lately the problem is coloring, for some reason it just isnt clicking. I need to figure that out because its very frustrating when you have a great sketch and the end result doesnt live up to it, feels like wasted potential.
