Commission of a xaela. Seems hard to believe but I hadnt drawn one since early 2023, and the fin horn type since 2022 even, which is a shame because I really like them.

Ive always found xaelas easier to color than raens because of the blue scales, especially if you go with cold colors which I did here since then you can make the whole thing around blues, pinks and purples and that combo always creates a pretty magical ambience.

Here since she is wearing a Kimono I also wanted it to have a bit of a japanese vibe, but with a touch of sci fi maybe? I feel like this could have taken place in some corner of Solution 9 even. Ive always liked that mix of nature and tech, it gives you that super luxurious vibe.

Aside from the colors my favorite part about this one is the face, again based on au ra type 2 which has a more gentle look by default, and I think it translated really well into my style. Then for the hair I gave her that messy bun + side bangs I love doing, it really completes the look here giving her almost like a princess vibe.

Also at first I was actually gonna have the bra cover her breasts completely but after discussing it we decided to go for a sheer look and Im glad because it worked out even better. I was just worried it would oversexualize the scene since I really liked the pure/innocent vibe it had but it actually didnt at all, and her face is still the first thing that draws your attention so mission accomplished I guess.

Oh and for the nails I went with a blue teal to match the eyes, it was either that or pink with french tips but this looked good right away so for once it was an easy decision to make. I think that color stands out nicely here but without being too much.

I think thats all I have to say about it. It was the main thing I worked on this week but Im very happy with the final look so it was worth all the time I spent on it.

Working on a few more commissions now but Im really taking my time with sketches lately so it will be slow. And of course Ill be throwing in my characters in between as always, I still have many things I wanna do with them.
