Along The Shore

Had a really good streak going the first half of the year but it sadly fell apart in the summer, and then as always the longer I go without drawing the harder it is to get back to it. Finally managed to overcome that last week and do a bunch of new stuff though so, now that the hardest part is over Im gonna make use of the momentum and try to get as much stuff done as possible.

To start with I just wanted to do a bunch of my characters (both the au ra and miqo'te, who I have yet to post), so naturally here is one of those. I wasnt sure which one to pick for today but given I dont often do back pics, I thought it would be a good way to kick things off.

This one was a very quick sketch and I got everything to look good right away (its always way faster whenever the face isnt visible because I always spend so long on getting everything to look just right especially with expression and lips), the problem came when deciding what to do with the background/scene. I went through 3 completely different ones until I arrived at this. The others were ok but I wanted the focus to be more on her rather than background so I wanted to go with something simpler that really highlighted her body shape and so on.

I also wanted to bring back the gown from "Elegy", which I will definitely use more in the future too. I feel like it suits her so well, adding the nice contrast of the black on her pale skin, and its just super elegant to look without getting in the way of any of the major parts youd want to see.

And yeah Ive always liked this kind of angle halfway between back and side, since it gives the body such a nice silhouette especially with breast shape. Then the ponytail hanging through the back and even the tail for those who like that. Theres just a lot to see and like.

This is just the first of 3 back pic ideas I wanted to do with her though and theyre all very different so Im looking forward to doing the others soon. All in all, there will be a lot of her in the near future so Im gonna apologize in advance for those who want more character variety, lol. Ill try not to post her back to back though and keep alternating with the miqo'te, or commissions or some Star Rail characters Ive also been wanting to do for ages.

Anyway thats it for today. Next up will be my miqo'te for sure and I tried to get a bit more experimental with the colors so Im very curious to see how people will like it (hopefully as much as I do).
