Another long due commission from last year that I finally got done recently.

I went for a scene similar to "F'elda" with the cozy reading corner, though in this case she is actually reading lol. I was also a bit inspired by the last Y'shtola pic I did back in 2021 so I tried to create a similar mood here even as far as the pose and lighting goes, with the big difference being this one is a full body pic instead which always has big implications in the composition.

So one of the key things about her is honey yellow being her favorite color as well as the chocobo mask that she always carries around with her. I obviously didnt want her to actually be wearing it because I wanted the face to be visible, but I still tried to find a way to include it somewhere in the background without it getting in the way or becoming too distracting. I think it worked out well in the end because the dress also being the same color drags your eyes towards her anyway.

And speaking of which, I almost always use either black or white for clothes, so giving her nighty a strong yellow color definitely came with its challenges. Especially since I also wanted it to be a bit sheer as usual and just the general thing of not wanting it to overpower the character itself. In the end though I think it combines really well with her skin color. It just gives her a really warm look overall, plus it also matches the eyes.

For the background I think the main thing worth mentioning is the green/teal I picked for the pillows and books. I wanted something that would contrast nicely with herself and the mask, rather than just having the whole pic be warm colors, and I feel like this worked out really well. Its a very satisfying combo to look at.

Then as the last touch I added some plants here and there which I think always make indoors scenes look a lot more lively and even exotic, and its something I hadnt done in a while so I missed it. I just felt like I was relying too much on it for a while and it was becoming a crutch so I wanted to see if I could make indoors scenes look good even without them. Now I think Ive found a good balance so its not a problem anymore.
