Twilight

This is one of those Ive had sketched here for months because I didnt know what to do with it until I finally decided to just start coloring it anyway and see how it went. It went through a bunch of changes especially as far as trying to decide on clothing.

At first I had her wear a kimono which also looked pretty good but this was one where I really wanted more nudity so I started trying things and this kind of open gown was my favorite pick. Then once I started coloring I realized the bare legs look wasnt working as well as I expected so I added the stockings as well. I think it has to do with that balance where I always like to have either the character wear something either for the top or the bottom, and since she is basically topless here, the legwear works great.

I also wanted to give the gown that nice sheer look since it just adds to the elegance, and on that note, its also why I went with closed eyes again for the expression. Its one of those things I love because it always looks so elegant and just instantly makes things more tasteful for some reason.

I should say I especially like her face in this one, I think the way I did the shading gives it a bit of an older look which is exactly what I wanted, and it just looks more realistic in general, especially compared to for example Rixia in my previous post which has a younger and more anime look.

For the scene/background, I wanted to do something that would be kinda "gothic" and luxurious (the reflective marble floor helps a lot with this), like some castle chamber but also modern at the same time, so basically a mix of new and old. I wanted it to have a fantasy vibe basically, since as I said before I miss that feel/mood from my older stuff some times. As a result I also made the whole thing darker in general as far as the lighting goes. It was meant to be a night time scene although in the end as the name implies the feel is more that of early evening instead, which Im also fine with.

Thats it for this one, its nothing especially "new" (especially with it being my au ra and all lol) but I still really like it and Im glad I did it.

Lately Ive been busy with some other stuff irl and some games I was really excited for (like Lies of P) so I havent drawn much but I still hope to keep things going anyway. Still have so much stuff I wanna do.

On a last note, why did Patreon change the way posts are displayed? Now instead of displaying the main post in full with the sketch as an attachment, it just shows them equally side by side. I hate it. I want the finished pic to be the main draw, not have the post be split in half. Its amazing how sites always manage to make stuff worse whenever they update something.
