Added 2022-12-18 18:51:46 +0000 UTCA miqo'te commission. Posting things out of order this week because I havent done many miqo'tes lately so it adds to the variety.
The first thing youll notice about this one is the format. Since its one of those "lying on the side" pics and full body, I always hate how much empty space you have at the top and bottom, so I thought Id try going for an ultrawide format (21:9) and it worked perfectly. Ive always liked cinematic scenes as well so bonus points for that.
Then the hardest thing about this one (and the only thing I struggled with a bit) was figuring out what to do with the background/scene overall, as you can see from the sketch having none at all. I tried a few different things but nothing was really doing it for me until I went with this couch idea and it was an instant winner right away. It works so well composition wise due to most of her being inside the area covered by the couch, but the top of the head/ears being above it and contrasting with the bright curtains, instantly pushing your eyes to that area.
I also wanted to make the red stand out a lot as I do in many of my pics nowadays, and probably my favorite part about drawing red haired characters really. Its a color that naturally grabs your attention and of course the lips/nails being the same color is also satisfying. And then the blue of the eyes also stands out a lot in the middle of it.
Also Im a big fan of pubic hair so I was bit disappointed with the request for her to not have any, lol. But yeah thats just a small downside of commissions, you cant have it your way every time, and I guess its fine for the sake of variety anyway.
Anyway very happy with it once again, especially when it comes to the general mood and lighting.
This week I took a small break to play a game/watch a show since I hadnt done anything other than drawing from the start of November, but I still have more stuff to post from last week anyway. And I guess the next post is gonna land right on xmas, lol although its not xmas themed at all (I dont think Ive done a seasonal pic in a while, maybe I should think about it for next year with both halloween and xmas).
