I knew her design would be a great fit for my style but I didnt expect it to turn out THIS good. It was one of those drawings where everything clicked and every idea I had seemed to work right away, plus I knew what to do for the setting from the start so that helped.
So this is actually the first of 2 drawings I wanted to do with her, and I wanted it to be the least revealing of the two, meaning no nudity (the 2nd one will be a full body nude), but still with a pretty minimal clothing, if you can call it that, lol. I just immediately thought of doing the whole conch top and bottom thing, and then when I was playing around with the colors I tried giving them a pearlscent look and I was instantly sold on it, it just looks so pretty.
And colors were definitely the main focus here, and one of the main draws of her design really. I wanted to have a lot of gradients on everything, especially hair and nails for example. The combination of pinks, blues and purples is just gorgeous to look at, and yeah I added some glitter again, it just looks so good.
On another note, one refreshing thing of drawing Kokomi was also the fact I tend to draw mostly (very) busty characters so it was nice drawing one with small breasts for a change. I do love body shape variety and it plays into her innocent/pure vibe.
So yeah, this might be the genshin character Ive enjoyed drawing the most so far which is a bit unexpected, but it was so smooth from start to finish. I only hope I can keep the same level for the 2nd one, although that wont be for a while since I wanna do a bunch of other things first.
