For this one I wanted her to have that native american/indian look which has always been a favorite of mine, so I wanted her to be surrounded by nature and having the whole thing look tribal like. I think everything from the braid to her skin color and her jewelry help with that.
Anyway its very rare that I color something in a day but this was one of those, the whole thing was just really smooth. I wonder if I just have an easier time coloring characters with dark skin which would be ironic given that mine is the opposite, lol. But I think it also has to do with the whole aesthetic and using the jewelry to make it more colorful which helps the whole thing pop.
Also as you can see I uploaded two versions, and thats just to show the dilemma I have a lot of the time where I try different setups with lighting and such, and many times its basically impossible to tell which one is better because they both have their pros and cons. In this case I consider this the "main" version so thats what I will upload everywhere later, because its really vibrant and has a general warmth I love. Then for the other version, I was trying to go for a night time look (although still pretty bright, lets say its full moon), and what I like about it is the blues/greens of the background make her stand out more, especially when it comes to her skin color, but it goes for warm colors in general.
Well, if you have a favorite, let me know, Im always curious about that.
So yeah, dont think I have much else to say, Im really happy with it overall and its funny that some times the quickest pics also turn out to be the best.

I can definitely see what you mean, there are definitely a lot of similarities, and the point about the eyes is pretty accurate as well, that might be the main factor that makes the 2nd version appealing I wish you could have everything at once, but its just not how things work, so I always have to settle for one (other than actually keeping variations like this, but this was an exception)

2022-04-17 21:25:23 +0000 UTCShe has a very similar aesthetic as Shivone has, with the dark skin and jewelry. It's funny cause both versions, make me think of two pieces you did for me of shivone. The warmer colour version reminds me of sphinx, and the cooler version makes me think of boudoir. I think my preference would actually be the cooler version. The darker atmosphere actually makes the colours pop more, it also gives her a piercing gaze when her eyes don't have as much yellow to compete against.
