This will probably be the last Yae pic for a while, although strangely none of the 3 pics Ive done have actual nudity so Ill have to come back to that at some point.

Anyway this one took me a really long time... I started it right after "Darker Thoughts", but I wasnt even sure about the pose, and then I wasnt sure about the clothes, and then the background, so I just kept running into hurdles along the way and had to put it on hold many times. The final result is nothing like what I was originally going for, but it might be for the best because its that rare situation where it somehow worked out in the end (failing upwards as they usually say).

The only thing I knew at the start was that I wanted to do something with legs/feet focus because I feel like that just suits Yae with her dominant personality, and I think she tends to attract people who are into that as well, so I figured people who like her will like this a lot. I also wanted her to have a very strong "ara ara" vibe so I brought in the folding fan which is like a cheat code when it comes to that, lol. Then there was the matter of picking an outfit and my first thought was obviously a kimono, but I thought Id try something different instead and go with a more western dress, though still with the long/wide sleeves Im a big fan of.

And where I really ran into a wall was the setting/background... I just had no idea what to do for the longest time and nothing seemed to work. The tropical beach came as a sort of desperation move really, I just had no idea what else to try and I was getting so frustrated because I wanted to move on with it so I started trying random things until something worked. What I didnt expect was that it would work THIS well. Though a large part of it is the colors for sure, especially the dress. I think usually pink and green is considered a "bad" combo but lately Ive been realizing it works really well when done properly. I even gave her greenish highlights on the hair which isnt meant to be but I dont care, it looks good and thats what matters.

Still on the topic of colors, I was going for that soft pastel look which a lot of people seem to like and it just worked out so well here, just very pleasant to look at without anything grabbing your attention too much.

I think thats all I have to say about it, although I always remember more things I wanted to say just 5 minutes after posting, lol. But my posts are long enough as it is.

Dont know whats coming up next yet because I havent finished anything else, but I think there will be some more characters I havent drawn before somewhere in there.
