Pale

This was one that I got done pretty quickly (for my standards) earlier last week. It might seem obvious due to the lack of background but it didnt start out that way, it was actually gonna be one of those secluded waterfall scenes but halfway through when I started shading it I covered the background up to see how the character looked by itself and I realized I actually liked it more that way. 

This gives off a more artsy minimalistic feeling, like the kind of thing that you could frame and hang on a wall (as is usually the case with minimalistic art or anything with a lot of white/empty space).

So as a result of that I spent most of the time experimenting with the shading/highlights, with a lot of added details here and there especially on skin texture and hair which I usually dont do. I wanted her skin to look just a bit shiny/wet, but not too much. At some point I had water droplets falling down her body and all that but I felt like it was too much and it became messy so I decided against it. Guess I still need to work more on that kind of thing to figure out how to make it look good.

And yeah I used the variation of the hair without bangs for a change as well, more similar to "Heavenly". I always like changing up the hair a bit with every pic to keep it fresh so I might do more experiments there. Another thing was that I said back when I posted "Sanctuary" that I really liked the closed eyes look and I wanted to do more of it... Well, this is a good example. Theres something super elegant about the mix of closed eyes and nudity so Ill probably be doing a bunch of these throughout the year.

Anyway, I think this is definitely not as impressive or impactful as the previous one, especially since it lacks that nice contrast of her pale skin with the black feathers/accessories, but I think the all white look has its own charm too.

As for the pic after this one, I started working on a few things and I can confidently say the next post will be Yae because its 95% done. Without spoiling too much, its gonna be a back pic because thats something I havent done in ages and almost never do in general, so that should also be refreshing in its own way. Although you can definitely expect more than one of her, lol. 

Of course I plan on drawing a bunch of other characters too but yeah thats what Ive been in the mood for lately.
