So this is a weird one, I started it back in April and the idea was just to draw her in some nice dress, but I didnt really know what else I wanted to do with it and that was the problem. This was before I did Requiem even so I hadnt realized how much I was gonna like doing this aesthetic. Since I was just stuck I put it on hold while doing other things until I eventually had some idea and felt like working on it again, which took a few months.
I think I picked it back up in August or something, and I ended up changing most of it, keeping only the pose pretty much. Completely redesigned the dress/shoes (it used to have a more "modern" look in general, on top of being white), and even changed the hair and face a bit. All with things I "learned" from the last few pics.
Same for the background, it was originally gonna be an urban setting, maybe on a rooftop or something, but I felt like doing a sort of continuation of "Requiem" and "Until the Dark" with the forest theme so this became kind of a mini series which might or might not continue in the future.
I think the thing that stands out the most about this one is how colorful it is. I can never get enough of the "forest in the fall" look with the red leaves and warm tones, so I did more of it. I did start to wonder if I went a bit too far and made it too busy, but I feel like despite all that the character (and her face specifically) is still the first thing your eyes are drawn to, so that worked out really well since I got the best of both.
And yeah for the dress while discussing aesthetics with some people the topic of corset dresses came up and I really wanted to do one, since I always loved this kind of look. Also one thing I also added when I changed the dress was some pantyhose. Usually I prefer bare legs but it worked out so well here both because of the nice sheer texture and also because its another thing that helps drag your eyes to the top instead, where her skin is the brightest.
Its weird to finally see this finished after having it around for so many months. The negative of it is the excitement I usually have when doing some new is long gone, but one positive is I also get to look at it from a distance that I dont usually have, which means I can judge it properly without any emotional bias. And my veredict is it looks pretty damn good, lol.
Anyway thats it. 99% sure the next one will be a fan art of a character I really like and have mentioned before, but Ill avoid spoiling more.
