Beryl (+ Sailor Moon)

She is meant to have a kuudere personality type, so sort of emotionless/stoic, which is something I love myself as everyone knows... And as a result of course I was instantly in (despite the short hair, once again, lol).
Those who have a strong sense for body language might notice something is a bit different with this one, in that the pose doesnt look as natural as what I usually do... Maybe even a bit awkward? And of course, its on purpose. Given her personality type, I imagined she isnt really someone who knows how to be sexy, so the idea here was to have her try to do a sexy pose while tilting her head like an animal would do, looking at the viewer and going "is this good?".
Other than that, I played a lot with clothes and was undecided for a while if Id want them or not, and I think both would have looked good really, but since my usual take is "dont add something unless it improves the pic", I just kept her naked. In a way, you can think of it as me getting the nudity out of the way, so next time I draw her (yes... as usual, there will be more), Ill add some clothing.
The background is the usual, not much to say there... Though I do love how glowy/dreamy it feels with the light hitting some of her body. And the other important part was adding the orange leaves as contrast to her blue scales. This is something Ive been trying to do with every drawing lately, having contrasting colors rather than just complimentary ones... Its a lot harder to make it work, but its also a lot more vibrant, so its worth the effort. Youll see the same thing with the next pic as well.
Lastly, I did join the Sailor Moon meme going on on twitter, but since it was more of a joke I didnt wanna make a patreon post specifically for it and annoy people with notifications, so I decided to wait until today and just include it with this post, so you get both at once.
I did put some effort into it though, it might look simple but I changed it quite a bit from the reference and cleaning the lines and all that took a while. Plus I played around with expressions a lot but in the end the lip bite won. I do love that although I didnt add any shading or lighting to it (its basically just flat colors), it still looks good because it captures that old 90s anime style, almost like what anime would look like if it had my character designs on it.

I love the mix of cool and warm colours. Excellent framing as well; there's just something about her dynamic pose. The little touches with orange leaves in the bottom foregrown and top glowy background give a sense of depth, framing the subject quite nicely from head to toe in her pillowed seat. I never throught I'd be praising feet, but it wouldn't be the same without them. They form this really nice line of body detail to her face, along with a cute tummy and natural breasts. I like how the sofa colouring is slightly in-between the warm orange and her cooler blue, which gradients the two contrasting colours well. I also like how the presence of red accents of her polished nails, blushed face and lips, and the soft areolae fading into her tanless breasts invokes this feeling of inviting sensual intimacy just under the cooler surface. Absolutely enchanting! There's just so much good going on with this work and I absolutely love the natural body shapes you gravitate to. <3

I love how her arms are angles so oddly. How her legs aren't crossed, but not really flashing how well her hips are too much. And how she feels like "This is sexy to you?" Where I can chuckle but I still love her body and legs and still find this sexy in a very silly attempted way. I also love how emotionless she is. It's not a smile but it's not a pout. Like she's trying to show it but... As Kuudere's are... cant be bothered. The background does bring out a subtle glow and softness to her. So, even if it isn't from her specifically, there is a calm emotion going on. Very gentle. Also, I don't know memes... But I like Sailor Mew-n and I'm liking the lip bite. Will you do the other Sail-purr Scouts?

Its quite interesting, this pose but reading that her personality is supposed to be like a kuudere, well makes sense and I actually really do like this lol. I also gotta say I like her breasts, they are quite nice... But yea this is different from usual quite a bit due to how you tried to make it and I think it translates well. I also really like the feel of the BG and it does make it more vibrant with the colours + how she looks and her colours. Despite the short hair, really looking forwardto more if there will be. Au Ras are my fav and Kuudere can also be quite interesting to see drawn due to the personality (oh and ofc she looks gooood lol). Ah yes, seen your Sailor Moon... the lip bite is damn good and I really like it. You made it well lol
