Very edge, much dark.

Been really looking forward to posting this one, because I think its one of the best things Ive ever done (that rhymed, nice).

As you saw from the sketch, it started out very simple... All we agreed on was that it would be a full body, she would be wearing those open socks, and Id do something new with the hair while making it longer. I was given freedom with everything else, and this was the result.

Ive mentioned in a few pics before that I want to get back to more of that dark fantasy style I had when I started, and this one is the best example yet. I do love the nice intimate bedroom scenes, but stuff like this is special in another way, its more artsy in general, and this one in particular is very "metal", lol (which suits me nicely).

Anyway, since I had no idea what I was gonna do when I started it, I actually did add a bedroom background at first once I was done with her figure, but then I was like... Naaaaah, lets do something else. So I started messing around with it and trying different things, and I actually had a bit of a different concept going on at first and some ideas that I thought would look cool but I didnt really know how to pull them off (such as having her leaning against a giant version of the "Shadowbringer" lvl 80 DRK sword for example).

Eventually though I had an eureka moment, when I thought of adding the DRK job icon to the background to create this sort of dark cathedral feel to the pic, where the icon would be part of the window itself, revealing its shape through blocking the magenta light. I was so excited when I thought of this, both because it amplifies the DRK theme so much, and also how it gives off this feel of religious imagery, but in the opposite way.

Trying to explain all of this with words is hard though and I think you know what I mean as soon as you look at it. Its just powerful.

About Lyn herself, I LOVE this hairstyle, by far my favorite version yet and one Im definitely up for doing again. Then I also thought just having normal socks would look boring and wouldnt match the scene so I gave them that worn/ragged look, which also contributes to the edge.

I was also undecided if I wanted it to be so explicit in terms of bottom nudity, but I figured with that area being mostly in shadow it wouldnt be a problem since its not one of the things that drag your attention. And the naked look just works really well here, I dont feel like adding more clothes would benefit this pic in any way.

What else? I love the confident/determined expression as always. Usually I make her look a bit more friendly and innocent, so this time I just wanted to go all out with the "bad ass" theme and show another side of her, since one note characters are boring anyway.

Of course I also had to do a steps pic for this, and I actually like all of them from the 3rd pic and on... It was just a matter of refining the lighting and details.

Anyway this post got pretty long so Ill stop here. Next up will be a new pic of Claire, and its another one Im really happy with.
