Just in time for the remake!

So Aerith is obviously one of those characters Ive wanted to draw for ages, and as with Lum, someone happened to commission her recently so I immediately took the chance.

I knew I wanted to draw her in the red dress the moment I saw that trailer, although of course we havent seen the full dress yet so I kinda did my own thing. Even for the top, I removed the black part underneath to make it a bit more open and I love how this looks since its still really elegant. I also added more of those ribbons in her hair because that boosts the cuteness and cuteness is always good.

As you can see from the fact I posted two pics, I did indeed make two versions of it. Normally I dont do alternate versions, but I couldnt decide on the background because each has its pros and cons, so as much as it annoys me, I thought Id just keep both and post both, so people can decide for themselves which one they like the most. Be sure to let me know in the comments!

As for me, I slightly prefer the one I posted as the main pic, with the mako reactor background, because I love the contrast of the green/blue and red, the way it makes her pop and how it brings out the color in the dress and ribbons. But on the other hand, the other one is a lot more accurate to the in game scene, meeting her in the wall market and all that. I went for a sort of japanese festival look there since its the vibe I got from the trailer and she blends really well with the background, maybe TOO well, which is exactly why I dont like it as much. I feel like its missing color variety but Im sure some people will prefer it regardless.

Anyway Im really happy with it in general, I spent a long time getting the face and hair to look just right and I think I pretty much nailed it, it feels exactly like Aerith (I wouldnt have moved on until I was sure of that). Of course its not like I cant draw her again either, I might still do one of her with her normal look/dress at some point, who knows.

Well, thats one more FF girl I can check off the list now. I think the only ones left that Id still like to draw are Rikku, Quistis and Rinoa. I think Quistis will probably be next, but not sure when (might have her commissioned by the same person since we already discussed it so yay).
