Added 2020-02-14 16:18:13 +0000 UTCNew commission of Kuro, which was originally supposed to be a portrait but I pushed for something different since Ive already done a bunch of those and I thought it would be too repetitive. I also hadnt done a horizontal pic of her yet so I tackled both at once.
I always enjoy these pics of the character just lying next to the viewer and covering most of the screen, they always feel very intimate. I also went with a pretty dark look on purpose, which hopefully wont be too dark for some people since everyone has different screen settings/monitors.
One thing that I was very unsure about was whether I should add a bit of light hitting the side of the body towards the tent opening, but when I did, I felt like it didnt really improve the pic in any way and actually pushed my attention away from her face which is a big no for me. Its strange because normally it would be something that looks great but here it just didnt work for some reason.
Thats the hardest thing about drawing, even when you have a pretty reliable method of doing things, things that work for a certain scene or character wont work for another, so you have to constantly improvise and adapt since no two drawings are the same.
Also this pic started a bit of a change in the way I do things when it comes to coloring and shading... Or well, technically you could say it already started with Ianna but after noticing how much people liked the colorful/vibrant look it had, I decided Id try to do more stuff like that from now on, instead of the usual muted colors I tend to do. So far its been working out great, as you will see in the upcoming few posts.
Speaking of which, Ive included a sketch of one of them, which Im super happy with. Cant wait to post that one.

Yeeeees, i love so much this kind of scenery ; horizontal pic of a laying beauty. :3 It's so sensual and quite intimate (especially with the light/shade). And it's even more great with Kuro ; her design/color match really well for this. I can't deny my love for resting/squished breasts <3 Great work Sora !

Guess we know what to do for one of the upcoming commissions Kuro is one of those characters I never get tired of drawing, as long as I can find new ways to draw her without repeating myself too much

I know exactly what you mean with lighting in reference to the opening in the tent, as that's something I pay a lot of attention to when I take screenshots. Love this.

Ofc it wouldn't be kuro without the signiture hat haha. I really like the whole tent feel and look actually, reminds me of the few times I actually went camping.... would do it again if I didn't have to alone, good times. Also the red eyes in the dark are quite something. I would say this is one of my favs of Kuro. Also I see what you mean about the colours and honestly I like both, since on this screen both look good except on my secondary where everything is a tad bit oversaturated lol. Looking forward to the other pic too, a bit late for spooky month but better late than never.

Also i am really interesting in that little witch sketch even that its not halloween there is allways space for sexy witch :)
