Added 2019-09-29 15:24:55 +0000 UTCWell, here it is. This one came kinda out of nowhere, I just wanted to do something that wouldnt give me too much trouble, and I hadnt drawn her in a yukata before so there.
Ive always liked this kind of side view, and one thing I love about it is although her breast is fully visible the most sensual part about it is actually the back of the shoulder. There is something about that zone that when done like this gives this sense of vulnerability to the character. And then Ive also always liked how faces look in profile, the general shape/outline.
One thing I always find is a must when doing a face from the side is to have a downward slope from the nose to the chin, with the really important part being that the upper lip is farther than the lower one. I dont know why this is but it gives the face such a feminine and attractive look.
Also I think I might have made her hair a bit too purple, although obviously its that way because she is in shade, but still. Its supposed to be more on the pastel pink side and closer to her skin tone, but it worked here anyway due to the strong red of the yukata bringing everything together.
And lastly, Ive also included a sketch of a viera portrait I did this week. I really like how clean everything looks in this sketch (and all of them lately) and especially her face. I find that giving vieras more mature faces (rather than cute ones) works really well. I like them having this womanly vibe to them, like theyve lived for a long time (similar to elves).
That said the sketch actually pales in comparison to the full drawing so Ill let you imagine what that might look like. Im also pretty excited to post that (and all the upcoming ones really as Ive said before).

(Late on this... forgive...) So... What can I say first of all... My number one in my heart... Whom I still don't know her name... I thought it was mentioned, but anyway... Just looking at her always puts a small smile on my face. (Not much does) Let me observe her with my perspective... *ahem* Well, first and foremost... Be still my heart. Maybe one day we shall unite. Anyway... I agree with the shoulder, bare and vulnerable... It always made me feel some sort of way just having a woman turn their back to you, drop the shoulders on what they wear and you just see that silky smooth skin with no obstruction, strap, or whatever. Even knowing they might not be wearing anything under it, the shoulder just... It hits me in a way... I can't explain it. I can't explain that...seductive nature of the pose. The bare breast being out with her supple pink notes on her body add to the intimate nature of this. Seductive, sensual, sultry... It builds so much and so many feelings. Also with the eye catch, too. It makes it so good. In my eyes. I don't even mind her hair is "too purple". It meshes with all the colors. I personally think it makes the pink yukata and white tones on it pop even more, since it isn't pink on pink. But that's just my thought... It might be her sexiest image yet. The Viera sketch is cute, too. Can't forget her. But I don't know... I just don't like their faces mostly. Might only be one I like... But either way... My heart is singing for your Raen. I love her... Your art is always amazing.

I've never really put too much thought to faces drawn in profile, but after seeing this one along with Lyn's 'Graceful' i must say that i really enjoy them. While most has been said already, I'd still like to point out that you've done something you don't do too often. I mean elements that are in motion, petals in this case. They really put some life into that art as i pretty much can see those petals flying by. The hair and yukata also enhances this effect so the viewer can get a pretty good idea how this one would look if it were animated. Also, i know that this is most likely my misinterpretation, but i can't help but see, in all her thoughtfulness and aura of mystery, a tiny hint of sadness. I'd really like to see her smiling sometime in the future. Oh, and also, you can never go wrong with purple! ;] Good to see a viera art on it's way. Honestly, i was expecting a lot more of them since the Shadowbringers' release. I'm with you when it comes to vieras being more on the mature side. My classification is pretty much this: Cute team - Midlander, Au Ra, Miqo'te; Mature team - Highlander, Elezen and Viera. Lalas and Roes remain unclassified up to this day. Of course please take this classification with a boulder of salt. :]

2019-09-30 14:15:41 +0000 UTCI love both too but I already do a lot of cute au ras and miqo'tes, I feel like it suits them better since they are smaller (of course it varies from char to char) Im sure Ill do some cuter vieras eventually but Im really liking this look right now, almost like amazons

2019-09-30 04:08:01 +0000 UTCThis looks so good and I love the hair colour really, its a bit more purple than usual I have to say but it fits (especially the ends aka highlights). I also have to agree with the whole shoulder thing, well for me + the exposed breasts make it really sexy and like she is vulnerable. Its so well made. The yukata looks pretty damn good too. One of my favs of your character I have to say. The whole expression too and being profile.... ah just so nice hahaha. Looks so nice coloured. Also I have to agree with the whole feminine look when the upper lip protrudes a tiny bit more than lower and the chin too, it really is the best look most of the time and attractive for sure. The Viera one is also really good and can't wait for the full one. Like I said before, I like how you draw them because exactly like you said, you give them that mature look and I honestly love that a lot lol when its made well (I like both cute ish and mature, can't really decide which one I like more tho, it depeds on the character I guess). 2019-09-29 18:59:00 +0000 UTCIts actually a bit frustrating some times when the sketch looks so good and it actually becomes worse in some ways once colored... This is because your brain tends to fill things in the most perfect way possible, so when that expectation isnt matched, disappointment happens That said I think this one looks much better in the final version because the colors add so much to it, especially the yukata

I really like the colour of her hair too, it goes really well with the yukata. The viera sketch is super cute too, looking forward to seeing that one finished!
