Hi guys!
WELL! After crashing premiere pro while rendering in the heat, accidentally rendering with a stray audio file lying around (And so re-rendering) and spending half a day trying to get that thumbnail right (damn you YouTube...) it's ready!
This video contains a solid stack of techniques I've built up over the past few years that just haven't found their way into videos. Usually because I couldn't find a way to fit them in without dragging the videos on for 40 odd minutes 😶
I think these terrain tips will be useful to most of you, and either offer something new, remind you of things you forgot…or at the very least serve as a relaxing background while you craft 😂
I highly recommend everyone check out each section, I've covered SO MANY things that get asked CONSTANTLY, as well as some others that don't get asked, but I see the mistakes being made and I know exactly how to help you avoid them! So please watch it all 😂
This video isn't one I wanted to make for my own builds, it was honestly quite hard to get excited about because it's all very mundane to me! There was no need for experiments, no new builds or shinies to be excited to see finished - what got me through it was you guys!
It might be quite mundane to me, but judging by what I see and hear from people, this video should be HUGE in helping people up their game and be happier with what they create - so that was what was driving me this whole project 😁
Please take a second to check out Fabio's patreon or MMF if you get a chance, the links are in the pinned comment and description - he did a wonderful job on our STLs and I really want to see him get some attention from this video. He's a lovely person :)
And with that, I'm off to sort out the teaser for social media, and the next project! This video will launch on Monday publicly, and I should have some previews of the next STL batch ready for you soon!
It's a bunch of accessories I like to use ALL the time, and will add a lot of flavour to your builds with very little effort...
Let me know what you think of the video, I'd love to hear if you found it helpful, or even if you just enjoyed watching :)
Matt
PS: I also removed banner and card ads that sometimes cover the screen - let me know if its a nice change or if you wouldn't notice! I'm playing with what ads I let run on the videos, as they only give me a very small portion of the channel income!
Not sure if anyone noticed but from the city tiles onwards, no video has had mid roll ads either - feedback on that would be welcome, did you notice? Is it a nicer experience? Would you be put off rewatching by mid roll ads?
It does reduce the amount of income per view, but I suspect it also increases views, so as I don't really rely on ads, I feel like it might be a minimal difference either way and worth dropping them on all videos....
