Yep, as many have pointed out, this battle is the beginning of the usual fight choreography that you guys were used to seeing in Z and Super, so it only goes uphill from here. Such a good fight, and ngl I don't remember Tien being THIS MUCH of a dick when I first saw this, but then again I was really young back then

Yep, Majin Buu did it for Goku so he could fight Uub in the last episode of Z/Kai

Yes to answer your question, the Crane Hermit is voiced by Chuck Huber who also voiced Pilaf, Android 17 and in FMA he was Shou Tucker

I'm pretty sure in the next 2-4 episodes we'll get some information on Tien's back story which will start to shed some light on why he walks the path he walks atm. Btw nice one calling out what "Yamcha's big break" really meant. I guess they knew Title Cards are usually a big spoiler so they wanted to try to misdirect a bit with the word play.

46:34 Oh nah I try not to be too petty about these types of things, but don't go thinking for a second that "Kamehameha Wave" is the proper way lol. It's just Kamehameha. The same way the series and games after OGDB have been pronouncing it lol

I forgot the episode title was "Yamcha's big break" God this show loves roasting Yamcha. He never gets a break πMy parents first DB experience was OG in the 80's when DB was on some weird tv show in Japan. My mother had a crush on Yamcha back then lol

BTW the anime's version of Yamcha vs Tien is a lot more even. In the manga, Yamcha only manages to get one clean hit on Tien. Other than that, Tien walks away unscathed.

9:03 You can call it cheating, but this isn't the first time we've seen this happen. Later tournaments in the series also had our main cast use this same trick to fix the brackets.

And thus officially begins Yamcha's downfall as he transfers his role as the go-to jobber and Goku's rival onto Tien. First comes his broken leg, then his death to the Saibaman explosion, and the rest is history. From there I'm sure you two can figure out who usurps the role next.
