Its funny seeing beth keep calling him Diego instead of Andor its in the title Lol.

2025-09-26 02:14:29 +0000 UTCAs yeti stated and i mentioned before BBY is Before the battle of Yavin, yavin is the famous jungle planet in star wars with the pyramid that features heavily in the original triology and made a slight apperance in Rebels, its where the first death star gets destroyed by luke and is pictured as the main rebel hq in later years of the rebellion BBY and ABY(after battle of yavin) are the BC and AD of the star wars universe. There is a tonne of planets that are less talked about in star wars that are heavily featured in andor to make the universe feel more lived in. So 5 BBY would mean 5 years before the destruction of the 1st death star.

So BBY is Before Battle of Yavin when a New Hope takes place when the death star was targeting the rebel base on Yavin. It's one of the most active ways of keeping track of the time line in Star Wars.
