Split Fiction Ending

Instant classic. So much greatness in this game.

True, I never do like the usages of split screens in movies or TV shows and am grateful it is rare so I wonder how they will do this movie,

That’s fair criticism, though he was such a secondary part of the game I wonder if the game would have suffered by him being more interesting and pulling focus? I’m sure that sounds weird because surely a better villain would only enhance a story, and yet this is the question that popped into my head.

It Takes Two is one we have wanted to play for a while so definitely something in the future.

I know it's probably already in the cards for a future playthrough, but having heard how much you two liked Split Fiction I can confidently say you two would adore It Takes Two. The gameplay is pretty comparable to this game. Right down to the platforming mechanics, puzzle solving, and variety of ideas. It Takes Two's story might even resonate harder with ya more than Split Fiction's since it revolves around a couple instead of two people becoming friends.

Once again, I thank you two for providing me a means of experiencing this game in a way I could not have myself. I can only say so much as someone who just watched you two play, but the mechanics and gameplay seemed incredibly polished and experimental. I don't think I found it as surprising as you two since I've probably played more games, but I could still feel the passion put behind it nonetheless. While the story had a lot of heart and the development of the friendship between Mio and Zoe was pretty entertaining and compelling, I don't know if I'd say this was the best story to come out of the works of Hazelight Studios. I think I would still put It Takes Two's story above it. The biggest reason for this being that I found Rader to be a pretty unremarkable villain. IMO he becomes too one-note once his obsessive personality takes over. I don't have anyone inherent problem with simple/irredeemable villains, but if you're gonna go that route I say ya gotta make them at least one of three things: Intimidating, entertaining, and/or somebody who does something to cause seriously personal conflict between them and the main characters. I don't think Rader had any of those qualities (barring that one time he tried to bribe Mio with her father's health). Thus, I just found Rader to be obtrusive to the story. I never felt any hatred or "love to hate" feelings about him. He was just there.

2:41:06 Gonna be interesting to see how (or if) this segment gets adapted in the movie. I feel like having the viewer's perspective cut between Mio and Zoe's worlds wouldn't hit the same, and having a split screen scene for a movie sounds like it'd be jarring.
