2023-10-02 18:16:37 +0000 UTCSince everyone is already talking about it, ill use this as my chance to say that I regularly have a hard time watching patreon videos (both fear& and wine about it) because the videos will occasionally just start buffering and wont play unless i pause it and leave it for a few mins, then it'll let me watch for 30 seconds, and repeat. I think this may be a separate issue from what everyone else is talking about, not sure. My internet speed is high and I only have this problem with patreon videos. BUT I saw recently that another patreon creator that I used to watch started posting their patreon content to both patreon subs AND youtube members, and being able to watch the paywall content on YT instead of patreon would help me a lot! I don't know how pricing on YT members works but maybe you could offer only the base tier content on there. The other thing people do is they post the videos to a separate hosting service and put a link in the patreon. I know these aren't perfect solutions, but until patreon improves their video hosting, it could be worth looking into other options. When the buffering makes the video unwatchable, my only solution is to download the video, which is a complete pain in the ass because patreon intentionally makes it difficult, presumable for piracy reasons. Sorry for the rant.
