Hasan mentioned Austin being “phonecian” in the YouTube portion of the episode. I’d argue yes he’s genetically phonecian but calling Lebanese people phonecian is kinda disingenuous. You wouldn’t call Turks today Greek or Armenian or Kurdish even though most are genetically of these nationalities. Genetics are only a small part of culture it’d be far more accurate to call Lebanese people, wether Muslim or Christian, Arabs. They both speak Arabic and have a culture much more similar to Syrians, Palestinians and other Arabs than to Phoenicians 2500 years ago. I’m Arab btw.

As an older NYC head (I'm exiting my 30s soon), I understand Will's sentiments so much. Comic book nerd was my entire personality, so i got to hang with the weirdos and not get bothered much I grew up on the 90s classics anime, and I was already in college when that next wave (Naruto/Bleach/Death Note) started hitting big in the States and I was one foot out the door already. I still enjoy some series, but it doesn't feel the same. My younger brother's the bigger weeb,, and he dug up his GITS sac blurays and we spent the weekend reminiscing. There's a lot of great stuff now, but I just am not as invested.

I wish the guest could have spoke more especially the lady. The guys are constantly in competition with each other and arguing over points I care so little about. Like who has the most diverse taste in music. It’s suppose to flow but the podcast gets hard stuck so often. Update: around the 30 min mark Will and Hasan start to interview the female guest and the rest of the podcast proceeds nicely! Who knew they could be such good interviewers?

This is just my personal opinion and preference but I wish the podcast didn’t have a hard 2 hour time cap. I understand hasan, will, austin and QT already have a thousand more things to attend to but I just feel that the conversations on these podcasts would be able to flow deeper and longer without the hinderance of a time constraint. I’m selfish in this request, but I enjoy these podcasts and wish they would just be able to flow and end naturally instead of on a timer.
