Now the next five episodes (79-83) are pretty much all standalone filler the next story arc won't kick off until the end of September but it's one of the best I promise! It's a good 18 episode long story (E84-101) I won't spoil what the name is

2025-09-16 22:21:13 +0000 UTCOne thing i always find disappointing with alot of modern shows is that alot of them dont have the really happy moments for the crew, there are some that try it but not to the extent that the longer running shows do. The phrases only come in with the namekian and godly dragon balls, the earth ones are just basically, "Eternal dragon Rise...", the early dragon summons always have a longer spawn time cause of the dramatic effect of filling tv time Lol.

We never get big backstory for pilaf and the gang in the show(not sure about the manga) ive always had the headcanon that pilaf and the gang have been friends since childhood since shu and mai take so much shit from pilaf. To Bathanys joke regarding jiggle physics comment with the tits thats a thing thats mostly picked up in modern anime through something we in the community like to call fan service, though it did exist in thee older stuff. With male parts we typically dont see them and i feel like something thats met for a general audience jiggle balls would be a bit to much i think lol.

Looks like we’re gonna be spending the next five-ish episodes with a bunch of filler (which works for me bc I’m finally ‘bout to move next week). But after that…. man. From the very beginning of the next arc to the end of the series is what I’d say many consider to be not only the best of OGDB, but some of the greatest material of the whole franchise.

2025-09-16 20:28:45 +0000 UTC(30:00) The insert song that plays during this segment of Goku and Upa playing around is named “The Blue Travelers”. Might just be my favorite insert song in all of OGDB. Just makes ya feel like your floating on clouds, or something like that. Kinda wish the dub didn't have dialogue over it, but it is what is. Guess they figured the silence of the original would've been awkward for English audiences.

2025-09-16 19:56:37 +0000 UTCAlso you probably wouldn’t remember, but we see grown up Upa and his father Bora at the end of the Buu saga when Vegeta gives his speech to the earthlings asking for energy for Goku’s spirit bomb! They recognize Goku’s voice and their whole village donates energy to Goku. We also see other OG DB characters like Suno and Eighter/Android 8 from the snow village and Launch donate their energy to Goku as well during these scenes!
