I only just now realized that Baba is voiced by Frieza's VA, and only because I realized she sounds like Genkai.

@41:57 one of my favorite examples of roshi being a great master

Knight Spearhead

"It can extend to infinity and beyond" ken regarding not far off considering goku took the bunnies to the moonu Weve known krillin was a pervert since he first joined but this the first time its put on roshi lvl lol She didnt drop the bricks to kill goku but to test his skills she says so in her head

Knight Spearhead

Baba & Orgasm. Thanks for that, Ken.

To answer your question she dropped bricks on Goku to test his reactions and fighting skills to see he if he was worth recruiting Also this Mummy fight kinda reminds me of what Toriyoma did with Videl refusing to give up against Spopovich despite getting brutalized even down to the big guy sadistically keeping them in the ring to kee the fight going. I guess Toriyoma was testing this idea out on poor Yamcha

Dorian Cantu

45:58 nope he's the main act ✌️

Cynergy

11:30 the use of blood in DB, I remember those days fondly 😂

Fun Fact: The voice actor for Baba (Linda Young) was the original Funimation voice actor for Frieza in the early 2000s before Chris Ayres (the actor from Kai and Super)

Dorian Cantu

They sure did lol

Someone who only read the manga, man they really stretched this episode.

Looking forward to the next set of episodes. A pretty underrated fighter is coming up.

4:17 Out of all the things Toei has added into OGDB, this shit right here is the funniest lmao

As you’re probably realizing, Yamcha at this point was the first to have the role of Dragon Ball’s go-to jobber before Vegeta came along to fill the position. In case ya don’t know what “jobber” means, it’s a wrestling term that describes a fighter who’s set up to constantly lose so that another fighter can look good. A lot of action-focused Shonen anime/manga like to have characters "job", so the term gets used a fair bit by their communities. Yamcha’s skilled and confident enough to be considered impressive, but he’s really just there to make Goku even more impressive when he fights whoever Yamcha lost to.
