I finally got to test out Live2D to see how it works and if it would be a good option to implement in the future.
The biggest hurdles were figuring out how to separate individual parts and then rigging them. It's quite time consuming and I keep finding more areas that need to be separated and/or redone. But once that is done, it's pretty straight forward in regards to animating the character. I still do struggle a little bit figuring out the physics part, but it's coming along. I still need to check if the games mechanics can be combined with the animations as each clothing item has to be a individual part, whit that, they also need to be animated correspondingly.
Otherwise I'm pretty satisfied with the process and result, so I'll continue researching this option for the future.
The character is a new one and will be part of the game, more info coming soon!
Additionally, I've made some frame by frame animations with a more dynamic look, to upgrade current animations at some point. This process is pretty much straight forward, but having to colour each frame can be a hassle.
Once i have both variations available for every one to test out, I'll open it up to a vote to see which to implement going forward. But, feel free to let me know your what you think of the animations now!
Cheers!
