LIke people can be goofy or weird but none of the characters are really someone you question why they are in this series or how they made it this far. Every character is compelling in the narrative and would think things through from their personal perspective of the situation they are in.

2025-08-08 23:37:00 +0000 UTCI think Ken's misconception passed on to Bethany from the last episode, "But she didn't fire-" as well as "She didn't do anything." are points I disagree with. It showed Frieren had INTENT to kill and was going to fire a showy flashy killing spell in the middle of town, so I don't think she "didn't do anything wrong". A good equivalent would be someone brandishing a weapon (like a firearm) in modern society with intent to harm in the middle of town, I'm pretty sure that is unlawful. And Ken is correct, personally I'm old fashioned especially for traditional Shounen genres in anime and even in Western cartoons/media, hard work = always rewarded especially with perseverance kind of troupe. The genre is overused and predictable but they're the most fun to watch/experience. FYI the ruler of the town is called Graf Granat, I'm assuming "Graf" is some type of title like a lord.

The actual title of the manga is Sōsō no Furīren, in English means Frieren at the Funeral, given how significant Himmel's Funeral was to start this story and Frieren's 2nd journey. It can also be translated as Frieren the Slayer, which as you can see, is how the demons saw her.
