Since you guys are done with Invincible, I wanted to recommend a show you guys show interest in watching some day. It's Ben 10, the show is quirky, action-packed, but is committed to showing Ben become not just a better hero, but person as well which I feel like is something right up you guy's alley

Edwin Wiredu

Yeah j don’t like the Rex name thing either. It gives me vibes of Ben Reilly with Peter Parker not feeling like he’s the real Spidey but more than once having taken his name regardless instead of just being Ben/Scarlet Spider.

GrimmxLaw22

It’s worth noting that Conquest is the oldest living Viltrumite, which is interesting when considered alongside the fact that he was already well into adulthood when the “Viltrumite purge” that Nolan spoke of in season 1 happened.

oliver isn’t really more fragile than other viltrumites and won’t have a shorter lifespan just because he has bug genes. as he goes through puberty and is getting his powers, the viltrumite genes eventually fully override the genes the species of the non viltrumite parent have. we’ve alr seen this because for example, as a baby he used to be a much darker purple and he’s going to continue to lighten in skin color.

case!

Oh that's interesting, will be very curious how our community experiences it who had read the comics and then those of us do who have not read them. Experience might be the same for everyone since there's fresh material involved but could also be very different since those of us who haven't read them don't have any clue what is coming or any expectations yet.

Bethany and Ken

Oh yeah, definitely didn't think he meant it negatively and it was clear his intentions were to honor Rex, just kinda didn't feel right to us even with that positive desire.

Bethany and Ken

Very true!

Bethany and Ken

Ooooo... that does sound interesting!

Bethany and Ken

That's good to know that Oliver won't necessarily be weaker because he is half Thraxxan. And yeah, Conquest is terrifying and JDM did a great job voicing him. Definitely had the Negan & Glenn flashbacks throughout.

Bethany and Ken

That's a good point!

When Conquest says “Getting mad doesn’t make you stronger” I like to think Mark has adrenaline from his human half so it makes him more dangerous when angry.

Trey M

Well until mark has a change of heart, all those villains on their last life then game over

Ali

So glad Mark is finally realizing that these galactic terrorists need to die🎉

Zaheer Codon

Yes. And despite being Rudy he was being a sarcastic ass like our Rex. Which proves it is in Rexs DNA. lol

Rinnzu Rosendale

so does that mean when we saw future eve and rex in robots suit and eve told him to shut up it was actually robot not rex ?

Lee

SEA SALT! I NEED YOU SEA SALT! 🗣️

REDE

I never quite did buy the whole adrenaline thing, Viltrumites have evolved into basically perfect organisms that use smart atoms to achieve superhuman feats like flight, healing, holding their breaths really long, etc. All of that and they haven't developed Adrenal Glands?

REDE

"You can breath. You can blink. You can cry. Hell, You're all gonna be doing that."

Oh yeah, this episode was a lot. Jeffrey Dean Morgan did a phenomenal job voicing Conquest. Every time I heard him speak, I heard Negan from The Walking Dead tormenting Glenn all over again. This episode gave me the most anxiety in the entire series, especially when Conquest was stretching Oliver out slowly. This one was certainly a roller coaster of emotions with anxiety and tears mixed in together. Here's the scary thing about Conquest, he isn't the strongest Viltrumite, he's number 2. Let that sink in, he took orders from someone stronger than him. Mark got lucky in this fight. While it wasn't nearly as one-sided as his fight with Nolan at the end of season 1, he showed on multiple occasions that he could have easily ended the fight immediately. However, it's like he said, he wanted Mark to resist and give it his all to experience this fight to the fullest. Something else to note, Conquest is possibly the oldest Viltrumite in existence. He existed before the purge and survived it. We see him in the flashback for when the purge was over back in season 1, although he wasn't missing his right arm and didn't have a scar over his right eye as well. Nolan was born a considerable amount of time after the purge and is around 2000 years old. Viltrumites age more slowly the older they get. Nolan looks like a human who is in their mid to late 40s and early 50s, so imagine how old Conquest is by comparison. He is ancient even by Viltrumite standards. I must give props to Oliver and Eve for helping Mark, even if they were way outclassed initially, until Eve was able to pull a massive clutch after almost dying. That had me tears seeing her like that and seeing Mark being so distraught, begging her to stay alive. It's also poetic in how Mark beat him by smashing his head in as if you've seen The Walking Dead, there's probably some unresolved Negan trauma that can finally heal. They went above and beyond with the animation and sound effects in this episode. I had the privilege of watching it on a big screen with large speakers, so I felt every punch and impact throughout the episode. Also, in regards to Oliver, yes he's part Thraxxan, however, he's genetic code is still mostly Viltrumite, so he isn't necessarily less durable because of his Thraxxan side, he's less durable because he hasn't had his powers for as long as Mark and he's younger which means they haven't developed as far as Mark's. Furthermore, even if Nolan and Alan were there, it wouldn't guarantee an immediate win for the heroes. It would simply mean Conquest would stop playing around since they would pose a bigger threat than Mark. However, Conquest is above Nolan and Alan and would take care of them first. Cecil wasn't kidding when he said it to Eve, in a one-on-one fight, Conquest would take Nolan down if he didn't play around. And yes, it may seem reckless for Cecil to keep Conquest alive, but you have to look at it from his perspective. He doesn't know that there are fewer than 50 pure-blooded Viltrumites in the Universe, no one does, other than the ones who remain. Alan is the only outsider who knows at this moment. For all that Cecil knows, now that he's been beaten, there could be hundreds, thousands, if not millions of Conquest level Viltrumites headed to Earth. From our perspective, it's stupid because we know the truth, but he doesn't, yes it's a risk, but he's willing to take it

If you're ever interested in another high drama original sci-fi western animation highly recommend the Pantheon series on Netflix. It really pushes you to question what makes someone human and our relationship with technology, so it would make for great discussion material. 😉

KrimzonHawka

1. robot taking rexes name is just how he is(due to social ques which always points the question. Is he more machine than man) 2. Im surprised they figured out jeffery morghan as conquest. Funny thing is if you figured it out. The writer of the invincible comic is the same guy behind the walking dead comic….the actor who plays glen in the live action walking dead plays invincible….Negan plays as conquest….fun little easter egg for how the battle ended hmmmm 😂

BNutt18

Negan's turn to get his head bashed in

Spence

One Punch Man will be a very needee break from the ultra high stakes of invincible

Ignat10

Yeahhh Glen vs Negan round 2!!!

The Mister Octopus

Such a great episode (although it was traumatic for everyone involved lol)! And don’t worry you guys aren’t the only ones that feel weird about Rudy taking Rex’s name, feels kinda like identity theft to me lol. Especially since he is already using a clone of his body and will probably grow up to look more and more like him. But I’m sure he didn’t mean it in a negative way and just wanted to honor him in some regard.

Kami_Psy

Conquest vs. Invincible is one of the most brutal comic book fights that I've personally witnessed and trust me, it's gonna get worse. Some fun facts, the "I'm so lonely" speech Conquest did never happened in the comics and was a show add-on, left me surprised, also Eve in the comics didn't put up a fight and got one-shotted by him, lastly instead of the train scene 2.0, in the comics, Conquest rams Mark through a whole ass Naval ship. Pretty epic stuff

Christopher Lovejoy

Great reaction as usual! The after credits Darkblood scene is actually not from the comics. Its a story that the creator wanted to put in, but never got to during the original comic run. So even us who've read the comics and know what's coming, are in for a fresh storyline with Darkblood in the show adaptation.

Ram.

Mark has one perk against a full blooded viltrumites, he has adrenaline when he’s pissed, goes ape shit, goes feral and ignores pain from his human side. Even tho Conquest said “getting angry doesn’t make you stronger”

Yoshitsune92

For conquest being the second strongest viltrimite mark somewhat stood his ground. Season 1 mark would have been toast
