Thank you for all this context, especially connecting it back to Origins so we can anchor it in our brains. 🧠

It's fun to hear about the evolution of fan acceptance with parts of these beloved franchises that have amassed such a HUGE following!

Ah, helpful to know they are in reverse order and that we may understand more as we go through this journey, thank you!

The Plan is one of my favorites as it showcases some really important scenes in Pokemon Black and White. It captures Ghestsis (the one narrating it) who he truly is and how under handed he is. Definitely recommend playing those games first if you two ever get the chance

Wally is Gen 3, Barry is Gen 4.

To add on to Pyro's comments, I'll just quickly point out who our protagonists were for each episode. Episode 3 - Generation 6 The boy who had the big blue deer Legendary. His name is "Calem". And we actually got to see his female counterpart you can choose to play as. The blonde girl with the red hat and glasses. Her name is "Serena". The other girl with the pink shirt is just one of your friends, "Shauntal". Episode 4 - Generation 5 The girl who had the orange pig and shows up with the Light Stone. Her name is "Hilda" and is by far the most popular choice among players. Mostly because people didn't like the boy protagonist's design and they didn't like his name, being "Hilbert". I'm one of the few people that don't mind Hilbert though. And unfortunately, you two only saw him that one time in Pokemon Generations when he came to help N and he was just a silhouette. Episode 5 - Generation 4 The story pretty much followed Wally. Your main rival of the game. So think like Blue. The boy you keep seeing alongside him is the male protagonist, "Lucas". We didn't get to see the female counterpart, "Dawn". Correction: the rival’s name is “Barry”. Not Wally

Pokemon Black and White (episode 4) is my favorite game of all of them. And yea this series is similar to generations in that it is an animated snapshot of critical moments within the game so it prob won’t make much sense to you. They are going in reverse order of when the games come out so I think the last episode is probably gonna be the one you understand a bit since you have context from Pokemon Origins.

So it looks like Generation 5 is what captured you the most. Good. Because Gen 5 is considered to be one of the best stories in all of the Pokemon games. Or at least the mainline ones. Which sucks when it initially came out. Because too many old players only looked at the problems of Gen 5 instead of good stuff. Nowadays, it's considered one of Pokemon's golden era in terms of being a good game.

Things to clarify: Episode 3 - If you remember the last episode of Pokemon Generations, that was the weapon that the king used to take revenge on the world for taking his Pokemon from him. - The Gyarados changing forms is due to Mega Evolution if you remember from the last episode of Pokemon Origins where Red's Charizard changed forms. - That blue deer Pokemon is Xerneas, basically the embodiment of life on Earth. It was also the fuel source of the weapon before it was released by the protagonist. - The villain of this generation Lysandre basically died on his hill. He died before he could witness more change and died with the memory of the world that was most beautiful to him. Episode 4 - Ghetsis, the villain of this episode, his goal is to manipulate people into releasing their Pokemon with the thoughts that they are simply enslaving their Pokemon. Once released though, there will be no one to stop Team Plasma from conquering the people - N is a special person who can communicate with Pokemon. Ghetsis adopted N and was easily able to put the ideals of Pokemon liberation into his mind with his close affinity with Pokemon. That said, Ghetsis never saw N as a son, but instead a freak who could control behind the scenes. - Zekrom came from the dark stone and was awakened by N's ideals. The girl, the protagonist, holds the light stone which contains Reshiram, the Pokemon of truth, unfortunately we didn't get to see it awaken. Episode 5 - This episode's lead is Barry, your rival in the games. His father is Palmer, the leader of the Battle Tower where the most elite trainers go to challenge, he is nearly as strong as the region's champion. Naturally Barry strives to become stronger than his father. - The little blue penguin is called Piplup which evolves into Prinplup, and finally Empoleon. - The woman with the purple hair is Jupiter of Team Galactic. After defeating Barry, she takes the Legendary Pokemon of Knowledge. - The whole rainbow sky thing is the effect of Team Galactic's leader, Cyrus summoning Dialga and having it create his ideal world.
