To be clear though, Scar is only targeting STATE alchemist. Alchemist with State Certifications, that’s why he’s more so after Ed and not Al. He only fights Al because Al fights with Ed to protect him.

2025-07-30 18:45:23 +0000 UTCIt's always so interesting hearing other people's opinion about characters in this show I love contrasting opinions and Scar is one of my favorite characters in the show 🤣 It is worth noting that scar is a character deeply affected by the genocide of his people. He watched Amestrians come in and slaughter everyone he knew and loved. Despite the hard truth being taking revenge wouldn't help or heal anything, it's a lot easier said than done especially when everyone you loved was murdered. The state alchemists were specifically the ones that killed the most people, in this episode we even see some taking joy in the countless murders they committed. Also worth noting that he doesn't wish to kill all Amestrians, just specifically the state alchemists, the group that produced the most terrifying results in the war, which is why he is so against alchemy. They basically tipped the scale and turned the war into a genocide.
