A few questions about what comes next so happy to share where our heads are at right now. We are planning on doing the Evolutions and Twilight Wings next, but our Pokemon journey is quite fluid at this stage so we have taken down all of these suggestions. 🙂

Thank you for these suggestions!

1025... wow!

Bethany and Ken

Blue doesn't get enough calcium 🤣

Bethany and Ken

Thank you!

Bethany and Ken

haha, that makes us feel bad for Blue.

Bethany and Ken

Ah, I think we may have missed the distinction between the THROWN at vs. FELL on, so appreciate that clarification. Thought it was more or less the same thing they each experienced which seemed to make Red's lack of injury a continuity issue for the story.

Definitely could watch pokemon lore from logkstin on the lore of the pokemon world history in a sense of the legendaries

There's actually 151, Mew was a "secret" pokemon back in the day, as well as the very first mythical pokemon introduced. Although I get where you're coming from about the realism about Red's injuries vs Blue's, it was said Blastoise was THROWN at him, not dropped on like Red's case. I'm no scientist but I think having the acceleration of a hard-shelled 188 LB pokemon thrown at you hurts more than being slowly being dropped on; especially at the speed Charizard was deaccelerating at, though I do agree it's unrealistic that Red has almost 0 to very minor injuries upon catching Charizard especially when Charizard is 200 pounds, then again he didn't drop from a very tall height. P.S Charizard isn't a dragon, just has dragon-like features, the exception being when he mega evolves. If you never thought about it, all the Gen 1 starters are reptile-like in nature/in features.

And that was the animated version of the original Pokemon red and blue games. Very nostalgic for those of us who played the them.

So what will the next series be? If it’s the main anime, then good luck because Season 1 is 82 episodes. I would rather you see the rest of the mini series as they have better animation. The ones you haven’t seen yet: - Pokémon Evolutions. Similar to Generations where it’s based on moments in the games, but we go straight from Gen 8 to Gen 1. So a reverse chronological order. - Twilight Wings Based on Pokémon Sword and Shield, where we explore the region of Galar which is based on Great Britain. - Hisuian Snow This takes place far in the past when People and Pokémon were still separated and scared of each other. If you however decide to check out the first ever Pokémon movie, which I don’t recommend until you’ve gotten to Episode 69 of the main anime, but if you do want to see it at anytime, I suggest you watch the 10 minute video of Mewtwo’s origins. I have a link from a X account that posted it, but I’ll try to find other sources that have it. (Found out it might be on Amazon Prime) https://x.com/pokemonhttps/status/1837583166770680087?s=46 Reminder this should only be watched if you ever plan on reacting to “Pokémon: The First Movie”

BIG THING about Mew! Mew wasn’t even supposed to be a thing in the original games. A developer at Game Freak named, Shigeki Morimoto, added Mew as a last minute addition without actually having a way to catch it. Because they intended to give away Mew to a select number of players at special events. Like when Corocoro Magazine held a prize draw and only 20 players could legitimately get their hands on a Mew. They wanted to make Mew as special as possible by making it very limited and that only a handful of people would have. These types of Pokémon would be known as “Mythical Pokémon” due to their extreme rarity and time limited availability. HOWEVER! Because these are very early Gameboy games with not very strong programming, there are a ton of glitches and exploits players could use. Including a way to get Mew. I’m not gonna go into details as to how that works, because that’s more nerdy than what you would be interested in. I will go into that because of these exploits, playground rumors at schools and stuff really helped the popularity of the games. Word-of-mouth back then was a huge part of Pokémon’s rise to fame. And since the internet wasn’t really a big thing yet, the way Mew could be obtained would always change as months went on. Examples: - There’s a truck next to a ship that you could find Mew under - You need to beat the Elite 4 a certain number of times to get them. - Professor Oak rewards you a Mew if you get all 150 Pokémon. And a whole bunch of other rumors that involved very specific actions and game breaking glitches. It was seriously a wild time to be a young Pokémon fan at the time.

Yeah, even back in the games when we beat Blue, the dialogue from Professor Oak is pretty much one-for-one how it’s said in the games. Funny thing is, you can challenge the Elite 4 as many times as you want. And Blue is always the champion you have to take down at the end. So a lot of people have made a bunch of memes that every time Blue tries to become Champion, Red is always just minutes behind to take his crown. Obviously that’s not his personality, but funny internet memes are a powerful thing when it’s left alone in a bubble.

And with that, Pokémon origins is finished. Really glad you checked this out after Generations which probably wasn’t a good starting point into the animated stuff. Mega Evolution wasn’t really a thing back in Gen 1. This is a game mechanic from Gen 6. So it was a nice surprise twist when we first saw the stones. And of course even though Charizard has 2 Mega Evolutions, called Mega Charizard X & Mega Charizard Y. X is the most popular one by the fandom, so they had to use that one for this battle against Mewtwo.

Maybe all game intros? https://youtu.be/gxotUOjOhQ0?si=G74EC9LfJFXhdMhH

Other people have said to check out the main TV anime after this but it's not that good. It's really just there to sell toys and cards. I've linked it before but here's videos about the full story of the Pokemon Adventures manga. It has a way more better story than the TV anime. The creator of Pokemon himself has also said that this adaptation is the closest thing to his full vision of the Pokemon world. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTM7CP8AR7c5ff3M0zVOyX0d11eUeH6rn&si=VubPEgqbSwnONcW1

What are your plans for Pokemon after this? More Lockstin and Gnoggin videos? Might I suggest reacting to all Mega Evolutions and Gigantimax moves?

Pyrodragon3993

It's actually kind of funny when you compared Red and Blue's injuries from their Pokemon falling on them. Blastoise is 188.5 Ibs, but Charizard is 199.5lbs. We can only conclude that Charizard falling on Red is a daily occurrence, Blue doesn't get enough calcium, or that Red is just country strong.

Pyrodragon3993

Ah, the days when there were only 151 Pokemon...such simple times. Now there are 1025 of them. Well Red....after you get Mew, you gotta get back out there!
