The secret of Stark's axe? I don't know if it is magic or have any specific properties, but it do happen to be the same one Eisen used during his adventures with Himmel's party. Eisen said he is too old to swing an axe anymore, so he passed it on to Stark.

So they're pronouncing it in line with the German (almost every character in the show has a name which is a German noun, adjective or verb, which contains a reference towards the character's nature). The German doesn't have a hard 'R' either, so in most German accents it would sound like 'Shtahk". I love Stark's English voice actor. He "gets it". In anime, a voice actor needs to be just a little bit over the top. Everything needs to be a little overdelivered, it's just how anime works. And he knows he's voicing an anime character; he doesn't underdeliver anything.

Even if it's "peaceful" now the same cannot be said about the future. I think it warrants it being slain, though Frieren's priority is the grimoire so her reason is more selfish rather than for the greater good, they just happened to align.
