As we are caught up with Destiny it won't be a regular series anymore, but as new content comes out we still plan to check in on Destiny.

We -assume- it is the Darkness/Winnower (as opposed to the Witness, who was said to wield Darkness as a cloak) because it speaks in the same nonchalant/informal tone as the entity who was communicating with us during Season of Arrivals. If it's words contain truth then it doesn't matter if we wield the Light or Darkness, we work towards it's goals all the same.

I could be wrong but I believe that while they have been here since before the traveler arrived, they’ve only been given form as cosmic entities since the traveler bestowed its light here.
