This was actually a pretty important scene about Goku with eighter basically being the reason for why Goku tries not to kill his enemy. And besides the manga was not THAT far ahead of the anime so who's to say akira toriyama didn't take that into account when continuing into the arcs that would eventually become DBZ and beyond.

Sent General White off to Jupiter with that right hook 💥🥊 It’s still gonna be a while, but I’m still looking forward to that “certain” character to appear, that’s when things are gonna get reeeal good 🔥

2025-07-01 20:16:23 +0000 UTCThe funny thing is that I can tell that the "is that your mom" is clearly a gag the dub actor said that was left in (Sometimes dub actors will say unscripted lines to make other actors laugh called "bombs") they don't ever make the cut obviously but it's so funny this one did (I'm assuming because it was a much older dub and they were much more carefree with their product back then). lol The "is that your mom" wasn't in the original it's just funny how the dub actors would have fun and freestyle some gags in the show from time to time back then.

It becomes more meaningful when you realize it could've been what saved Goku from going into a blind rage when he first turned into a Super Saiyan (again, if if "were" canon).
