Love you guys. Been watching the channel for awhile, about time i show some extra support and my gratitude. Great reactions as always!

Cole MacGrath

Blows my mind to think of him as only 5-6 months old but that is a very important reminder. Also great insights into the episode! From our perspective, communication is the corner stone of building positive relationships so Cecil's idea that he doesn't have to explain himself (which feels ego-driven) would, at best, be allowing someone to misinterpret his motives and, at worst, would be confirming that his motives are nefarious. There is literally no down side to talking things through, communicating why you are doing something and/or what is going on in your mind, unless you are up to no good... or planning a surprise party, I guess that would be the exception to the rule.

Oh boy, there is a lot to discuss about this episode. For starters, I would say both Mark and Cecil made mistakes here, however, with Mark, it's understandable because he's still a teenager and still learning that the world is more complicated than it is usually portrayed. Cecil's problem is that he feels he doesn't have to explain himself to anyone if doesn't want to. That is where he screwed up, he could have said to Mark that he's using Sinclair to give him more cyborgs in the event that more Viltrumites show up and he put Dark Wing on the Guardians of the Globe to make up for its lost numbers. It's possible that Mark could understand that, but in that moment he was in a volatile state as he has bad experiences from the reanimen. However, because he put that device in Mark's head and used it against him to prove a point, he pretty much created the self-fulfilling prophecy of him being a potential threat. Mark's relationship with Cecil was built on trust, but Cecil doesn't trust anyone fully, especially after Omni-man he doesn't trust Mark fully. It's because of his actions and his beliefs that he turned one of the most empathetic heroes against him. Monster girl was right about Cecil, as at the end of the day being a hero to them is a job and a commitment, but to Cecil, he sees mostly assets and soldiers to throw at problems to an extent. Also, Kate is completely in the wrong for saying that she went through more trauma than Rae as Rae said to her face that she can live through a copy while Rae cannot. Plus, if Mark had just "followed orders" like Kate said, then he would have conquered the planet alongside his dad. Oliver asking why Mark didn't kill Cecil is concerning, but you also have to remember he is still a kid and is also still learning that world is far more complicated, however, Mark has a better understanding but he himself is still learning and Oliver is only around 5 to 6 months old.

I love this show so much, hearing Cecil repeat the same thing he was told that changed him years later when he was in the same position his boss was, cinema bro🔥🔥🔥. Almost made me tear up.

I agree that Cecil has more experience, should know better, and pushed back in ways that escalated the situation. Also, he keeps secrets because he doesn't trust others enough, which is frustrating, but I suppose he doesn't get to have the omniscient audience view. Basically, Cecil did not handle the situation well at multiple points in a situation that was pretty bad all round. But I'm really getting stuck on this "Cecil cornering Mark" thing. You mean when Mark flew directly from underground to confront Cecil in Cecil's office? When he's looming over Ceci's desk? When Mark followed Cecil as they had a conversation that spanned several corridors before Cecil reached the door to the White Room, and civily asks Mark to just go home? When Mark says "No way, I'm not going anywhere until Sinclair and Darkwing are both back in prison", then follows Cecil into the white room? Despite agreeing/understanding pretty much all your thoughts this episode, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around "Cecil cornered Mark" as if Mark, the superhuman half-Viltrumite, hadn't just cornered Cecil first.

I think Cecil is completely in the right. Mark was out of control. Mark doesn't understand that his very presence is a threat to normal people like Cecil and they need a way to level the playing field when he comes at them like he did. They cant just trust that he wont become a threat like his father or even be controlled. Clearly Cecil can see things from marks POV since he used to feel the same way. But Mark refuses to acknowledge any view other than his own, honestly hypocritical, opinion Giving people the benefit of the doubt is great, but that's not really an option when you, or the world, wont get a second chance if your wrong. Trusting someone with world ending capabilities without countermeasures would be irresponsible.

There’s a lot of people that are in team mark and team cecil on other reaction videos. Honestly both sides I get both just have their own egos.

Ahh this episode really split sides and caused a huge war between the invincible fans lol. I believe Mark was being a bit wild but Cecil did not handle the situation well. Mark is young so it's completely understandable for him to react that way, but Mark is not a normal young person and could potentially destroy the world because he had a bad day. Mark definitely wouldn't do that but that's the same thing Cecil thought about Omni-Man and that didn't turn out well so I can understand him being scared of what Mark could do. Although like Ken mentioned, he jumped the gun far too early and used something that was meant to a "last resort" as one of his 1st options and took things a bit too far. I think both Mark and Cecil fucked up but Mark gets more of my sympathy because he's young and was the one that took most of the beating in this situation.

Cecil said he’s off leash like he’s a dog

Cecil was making the situation worse and mark finished it

This is one of my favorite episodes in the entire show simply because of Mark vs. Cecil's ideologies. You understand both sides completely, as they're both not wrong but they're not entirely right either, especially with their actions in order to prove the other one wrong. Cecil putting that device in Mark without him knowing it's messed up and obviously broke Mark's trust for him, but at the same time Mark is a very emotional person and isn't carrying out his point in the best way especially when he has the power to break Cecil's neck without a sweat. I could go on because it's simply that good but I'll leave it there
