Pokemon Generations Ep 13-18

That you for all this explanation and love the reference to DC (Batman) and Marvel (Thanos)!

The first episodes in this collection is actually pretty interesting; The first follows a post game side question from Pokemon Platinum, where you delve into Stark Mountain to prevent the remaining members of Team Galactic from bringing destruction through the legendary Pokemon Heatran. What’s interesting however is that we know next to nothing about Heatran. It’s the only fire/steel type, it was born within stark mountain, though geothermal energy. It potentially could’ve been one of the earliest beings that was born in the Pokemon world, or it could be relatively recent, we really have no idea what its role as a legendary is or any unique powers it may have aside from being powerful and being able to climb on walls.

I think FireRed/Leaf green and Platinum would be better choices instead of Lets Go and BDSP

Like others have said Pokemon Origins would be the next best thing to watch. Also another thing I think would be a good watch is these videos by Veevolt. They cover the Pokemon Adventures/Special manga. The manga follows the games though not closely but the creator of Pokemon himself has said that this adaptation is the closest thing to his full vision of the Pokemon world. It also doesn't tone down or skip a lot of stuff like the main TV anime does. IMO this is the best Pokemon story

The iconic "It's been 3,000 years" lol. I don't think they mentioned but the device that brought his pokemon back to life also made them both immortal, so he's been wandering for a very long time. He's actually gonna be in the new game Pokemon Z-A. I also recommend checking out Pokemon Origins, it's a very short show that covers the story of the 1st Pokemon game. It would be a nice cohesive story.

Now you’ve mentioned of playing a Pokémon game one day. I would make that a poll and see what everyone else thinks would make a good starting point. My 4 choices for you two would be. - Pokémon Scarlet/Violet - Pokémon Legends Arceus - Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee - Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

As for the next Pokémon related video. I will also vouch for Pokémon Origins. It’s based on the very first games to be released to the world. For Japan, it was Pokémon Red & Green in 1996. For the rest of the world, we got Pokémon Red & Blue in 1997. It’s much shorter and it does some time skips but it’ll better showcase how the world of Pokémon and humans coexist. And what Pokémon battles will really look like.

Forgot to mention. The second to last episode is actually the post-game story for Gen 6. And Beth. Many fans had the same reaction as you when this moment got animated. Because in the game, Emma never kicked their Pokémon because the devs didn’t know how to animate that in-game so they had to imply it. Here, when that episode dropped, so many fans were flabbergasted to see a human actually hurt a cute Pokémon. And it being Emma of all people was such a shock since we never really a bad side to her. It’s later revealed she was being used by the evil team of the Kalos region, called “Team Flare”. So she’s not herself when she’s in that suit and follows orders like a robot.

Might I suggest watching Pokemon Origins? This short series covers the first games, Pokemon Red and Blue with a few extra details. The series does do a few time skips between episodes, hence why its so short, but I think it's a pretty good short series.

Gen 6 is a pivotal moment for Pokémon. Many fans love it. Many of them hated it. As for me, that last episode of Generations, is actually the ending of the main story in Gen 6. So I was there to experience it. I will say this. Gen 6 has a lot of problems to it. But the good stuff I experienced outweighs the bad. And that ending solidified my feelings of being happy I got to experience it. It’s not as well animated as this episode you saw, but it still left a mark in my heart when the music for it played.

Things to clarify: Episode 13 This takes place in the Sinnoh Region (Generation 4) in Mount Stark. Here, the scientist, Charon of Team Galactic takes over after their leader, Cyrus, had disappeared. Now they want to exploit the power of the legendary Pokemon Heatran, for that, they steal the Magma Stone, a stone that supposedly can control Heatran. Instead, they just piss it off. When Buck returns the stone, Heatran calms down and retreats to the depths of Mount Stark. Episode 14 This takes place in the Unova Region (Generation 5) at the Pokemon League. What happened is that Team Plasma's King, N, had defeated the Champion, Alder, and Team Plasm is now going to take over the region with the castle, starting with the Pokemon League. The old men are the Seven Sages of Team Plasma. The girl is Iris, a dragon trainer and apprentice to the Dragon Gym Leader, Drayden. Team Plasma and the Gym Leader of the region are in an all-out war while the protagonist (Aka you) make your way to challenge N and Ghetsis. Episode 15 This takes place still in the Unova Region 2 years after what occurred in Episode 14. Here, Drayden is fighting against the New Team Plasm and one of the remaining Seven Sages, Zinzolin. The scientist with the wacky hair is Colress and he's one of the new bosses of Team Plasma. They attack the city to steal the DNA Splicers which allows Kyurem to absorb either Reshiram or Zekrom. Episode 16 This takes place in the Kalos Region (Generation 6). As you guessed, Lysandre is definitely evil. He is the leader of Team Flare and wants to pull a Thanos on the world, wiping out most if not all of the human population to make the world maintain its beauty, and this includes (to his grief) Pokemon. Team Flare had captured the legendary Pokemon Yveltal in its cocoon-like state. Yveltal is basically the Pokemon of Death where it absorbs the life energy of all living things, hence the perfect Pokemon for Lysandre's goals of Project Y(veltal). Side note, the woman he was talking to was Diantha, Pokemon League Champion and movie star. Episode 17 Still in the Kalos Region, these events take place after you beat the game. What happened to Emma was that when Looker took her and Mimi in, she wanted to repay him somehow. She ended up getting a job to help with some experimentations. Unfortunately, the experiments were for a mind-controlling body suit meant to steal Pokemon Trainers' Pokemon, crafted by the scientist, Xerosic of Team Flare. Emma is unknowingly committing these crimes thinking she is getting paid for honest work to repay Looker for taking her and Mimi in. Don't worry though, Xerosic is stopped and Emma keeps the suit, basically becoming Batman. Episode 18 Still in the Kalos Region, this takes place after defeating the Pokmon League Champion. The man is named Az, once a king of an old kingdom, now a wanderer. The Ultimate Weapon that he used became the key figure in Lysandre's plan to destroy humanity. Az's Floette is very special, besides coming back to life, it's the only one that carries a flower of that design, giving it the name, Eternal Flower Floette. The story of Az and Floette are not over however, with the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A, Az and Floette are now running a hotel in the city called Hotel Z.

So from the tail end of Gen 5 to the end of Gen 6. Generation 6 is the start of when Pokémon went 3D. Fittingly on the 3DS. The most polarizing turning point for the Pokémon series when it comes to how fans reacted to it. Because there are over 700 Pokémon at this point and had to be fit into a tiny cartridge somehow, a lot of the designs of the Pokémon felt stiff or lifeless in a 3D model. For example. Think of like how a fighting game character like Ryu is always making movements even if they’re just standing. Like they have their arm in a constant fighting stance and/or they’re bouncing up and down. The 3D model needs to convey the personality and mannerisms of the character. And as you can imagine, having to do this for 700+ creatures (some of which have alternate forms as well) is a very daunting task that probably wasn’t possible since this was the beginning of 3D Pokémon and they had no prior experience for it on handheld consoles at least.

I would second this, but he is not kidding that the Pokémon videos by Bumbles Mcfumbles are as long as movies. About the same length as the Gen 9 video you’ll eventually watch. So those will just be another thing to consider way later down the line when you actually have ample time. Or you could just chop it into pieces like you did for the Tekken and Street Fighter lore videos. That’d be fine by me and a bunch of others.

Hey guys! While you’re on Pokemon, I figured I’d recommend a video/video series by Bumbles Mcfumlbes about ranking pokemon as pets! The videos are long, but they’re some of his best. And it’d be pretty fun way to better get to know each Pokemon. This video covers the first generation: https://youtu.be/YXxULYZeKNU?si=ka6R9r_Ta7DtcSbT Have a good Sunday guys!
