2025-05-21 00:19:08 +0000 UTCI think we can all agree that volume 1 Weiss is terrible, immature and prejudiced and downright deplorable, but I really do have to give credit to her voice actress Kara Eberle for being able to switch back to that bitchy self centered role considering we know where she ends up and how far she goes in the original show. Like I think it's safe to say we all love future Weiss and how much she's grown into being one of the most emotionally mature members of the team, the scene in volume 5 where she has her talk with Yang about loneliness springs to mind. It's not easy to go back to that character and make us hate them again so yeah props to Kara! Another fantastic reaction guys! As a quick side note, Shion is non binary and identifies as They/Them ☺️. Can't wait to see what you think of the rest of this series. ❤️.

I laughed at how all of Jaune’s dream items (armor, shield, sword) had the infamous bunny on them. Always cool to see Sun – that “monkey-tailed scoundrel”! (And cool to see Penny. ;) ) I think this episode shows the importance of being around others outside of your life experience. Iron sharpens iron, as they say. Here both Weiss and Blake (and even Sun, a bit) are finding themselves challenged, and it gives them an opportunity to grow and expand. I think Jaune was just the “easy fix” to get everyone’s guard down, before the storm that is Weiss hits. I had seen about five episodes but had decided to hold off when you said you were going to do reactions for the series, and yeah – the fight for Weiss’ soul is going to be far more difficult at least as far as I had gotten. “Nightmare on Elm Street” as a seven-year-old, lol – that is so awesome! I’d seen most of them in the theaters during my teen years and really liked Dream Warriors because I was already a big AD&D nut. (Weird symmetry: ET had AD&D in it too!) Yeah, this version actually is a little more realistic about Weiss’ maturation. People normally take smaller steps rather than larger leaps and this seems more realistic – but even practicing doing the right thing or trying to be open when you’re not exactly doing it for the right reasons can open the door a crack that can widen later. (“One step at a time!” Klein had told her in RWBY.) I like the idea of the Nightmare grimm, it’s another unique twist like The Apathy from S6. Not all grimm take the direct approach. Ken’s memory is correct – Sun and Blake go after Torchwick, but then Penny gets in there and trashes the White Fang and downs a few of their planes to boot. Lots of explosions! But it’s a focus thing.

2025-05-18 02:29:34 +0000 UTCI’m watching this one for the 1st time with you guys so this new dream grimm is pretty interesting. Kinda agree with Ken and a bit sad they completely skipped the confrontation with Torchwick at the end. I really wanted to see how they would animate Sun’s gun nunchucks

At least that's what I got from it because I can't remember if they actually said what they represent, it's been a minute since I've watched Ice Queendom. In the original series they had a full fight for Penny, Blake, and Sun. It was the first time we got to see Sun's semblance and Penny's weapons. For time constraints they had to push the Weiss story over recapping other characters that weren't very prevalent until Volumes 2 and 3. As cool as Penny's fight was in the original series, it is honestly easy to cut out of Ice Queendom since it has no effect on Weiss since she wasn't there and the only part of that that was important for Weiss was the aftermath when she made up with Blake.
