Thank you for all this information! We hadn't recognized the Dark Souls costume but that is definitely a fun potential crossover. 😃

The game is whats called a Rougelike, meaning that the game isn't really a traditional adventure. You start at a hub, in this case the Roundtable Hold, and from there you select the Nightlord you want to hunt and begin runs in a randomized map - everything in it, from the layout, to enemies, to items, to unique events, are all randomly selected each time - and if die your progress is all lost and you return to the roundable hold, while keeping a few rewards - like the currency Murk, just not as much as what you would get if you were victorious. This is the same sort of game as Hades, which you've seen in the past, and have become massively popular in recent years. Based on your luck, you might get amazing items or upgrades and breeze through a run, or you might get trash and have to rely on skill. Even so, the Nightlords are apparently incredibly difficult foes, even for Elden Ring, so you can never really rely on just luck here. The gameplay is much, much faster than regular Elden Ring, with you sprinting around at max speed pretty much at all times, taking down bosses and leveling up as quickly as you can, since you only have 3 in game days to do so before you have to face the Nightlord - and technically the Nightlord itself takes up whole of day 3, so really you only have 2. Each night, the storm comes in, sorta like fortnite, leading you into an unavoidable boss encounter - either a boss from Elden Ring with new attacks or gimmicks, OR a boss from a Dark Souls game, like the Centipede Demon or The Nameless King. The big spider in this trailer was from Dark Souls 2! It's really great fanservice. Plus, some of the costumes are also from Dark Souls! You didn't seem to notice here, but one of those costumes was Solaire from the original Dark Souls - when they say "some may look familiar" Guardian wears his armor off to the side. The sudden crossover is strange, since Elden Ring and Dark Souls take place in different worlds, but I suppose we'll have to wait for the game to come out to figure out whats going on there. This game is a much different experience from Elden Ring, or any game Fromsoftware has made before really - especially with its focus on online play. But I'm really excited, I've even booked time off work just to play it on launch!
