In an earlier episode he said Grandpa Gohan told him to never look at the moon (one time he did and thatβs when he transformed) Vegeta also mentions in the Saiyan saga that the transformation is somehow triggered by the Moonβs radiation being absorbed through the Saiyan eyes. So yeah itβs not like a werewolf where the transformation is automatic

Definitely looking forward to the next episode, I remembered playing that fight in a story mode in the DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 game, and no other DBZ game has represented that fight, funny enough

At this point in the story, you're able to watch the first two movies, Curse of the Blood Rubies and Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle. Oh wow, Roshi's Japanese lyrics (at least at the start) are...something. Man can't even sing a song without being a perv. I consider the slow-mo reenactment to be one of the funniest bits of the franchise. So stupid, but silly. Credit to the announcer (I don't think, in 40 years, this man was ever given a name), he goes above and beyond for the sake of entertainment. I like that, after living with Goku long enough, Roshi knew to cover his scent. "There may be some other options." Good point Bethany...has anyone ever seen YOU in the same room as Batman? (Suspicion Rising) "A savant of dancing...he picked up that choreography fast." Oh wow, that does explain how he seemed to know the fusion dance so well.

2025-05-01 19:36:31 +0000 UTCYou had it right Ken. The Great Ape transformation only initiates upon looking at the moon. Hence why Goku only turned once he looked up through the glass ceiling back when the Pilaf Gang had him and the others trapped.
