I can't see the movie screen?

So when I watched this, my brain went into full geek-out mode to explain why RWBY's powers in the DC world were what they were, and why didn't Weiss get any. So here's what I came up with. It may have to do with their overall fighting styles, and how their powers adapt and translate to the world with no Auras or Semblances. So we can see Team RWBY as certain "character classes": Ruby is a weapon expert - she heavily relies on her weapon in battle, more so than others, and her power usage is just an extension of that. So her powers per se required little adaptation, and just translated from speedy transitions to full-on teleportation. Blake is a stealth/agility fighter, with a versatile weapon, her Semblance, literally called "Shadow", allows her to leave a shadow of herself, enabling her highly mobile fighting style. That translated into "shadow-bending", a power also focused on versatility and shadows. Yang is obviously a brawler, overcoming her enemies head-on with sheer strength, a possessing a power to dish out more power than she absorbed. So she got a quite literal firepower as her ability. And Weiss is an interesting case. Weiss is the spellcaster of the team. She rarely uses her weapon (the rapier) directly, most of the usage is to direct her Dust usage and her Semblance, which is, in and of itself, very versatile. However, since she doesn't actually use her powers to directly augment her fighting, that translated into having no powers, as well as being more of strategist like Batman. On the separate topic, I agree that there was some sexual tension between Batman and Weiss, but since Weiss is definitely over 18, I don't see a problem) You pointed out that they do have similar stories - both come from vast wealth, and in both cases their origin shaped them into what they are. Also, them being the "black and white" theme is a good touch, intentional or not)

I agree that it would likely happen after Volume 9, although I can't consider this "canon" because the writing just isn't there. It's about as much canon as "X-Men/Teen Titan" vs Darkseid/Dark Phoenix teamup, honestly, and similar things -- they're kinda fun as one off's and What If's, but eh. As much as I liked hearing Chris Sabat's VA'ing again, Action Figure Watts was just pretty silly. I had a hard time connecting emotionally to Part Two, after feeling a little more invested in Part One. It tried to hit on emotional threads from the main RWBY continuity but just felt false to me. The Batweiss ship is pretty plausible, I like the similarities between the two of them. I cracked up that Mirror Master and Weather Wizard showed up, I remember them from reading comics back in the 70-80's. I liked that Tyrian got a brief call-out. :D

Talk about dropping knowledge, if we ever need to know more about heroes now we know who to ask. Thank you for this! πŸ™

They keep doing blake ao dirty. The worst design for the movie, no storyline. I loved the kiss at the end though.

Pretty much every member of the Justice League has some pretty big trauma that drives what they do. Here's what I remember from various different versions of them, though it may not be the same in every show/movie/comic. - Barry Allen/Flash's mother was murdered and his father was framed and went to prison for it. - Diana Prince/Wonder Woman was banned from Themyscira for wanting to be involved in the "world of man". - Clark Kent/Superman lost all of Krypton and (sometimes) his adoptive father. - Mari McCabe/Vixen lost her parents, was adopted by nice family in America, and her older bio sister wants to kill her. - Bruce Wayne/Batman lost his parents, each of his proteges/sons has died AT LEAST once because he was too slow to save them, and one of his proteges became paralyzed from the waist down. And the Titans were mentioned in this movie so that usually means his eldest Robin, Dick Grayson, is Nightwing and is the leader of that team so he's got parental worries on top of everything. If you want someone in the DC world that Blake can relate to because of crazy stalkers then she should hang out with Nightwing because OOF, that poor man has been through it in the comics. If you aren't in the know already but want to know, Google Catalina Flores/Tarantula and Miriam Delgado/Mirage. I honestly like that the stuff between Bruce and Weiss is more kindred spirit than sexual tension, they just show it a little more reserved than Clark and Ruby who are supposed to be the more upbeat members of their team. If Barry hadn't gotten possessed than Ruby probably would have bonded with him too because he is the jokester of the team (normally), kinda like Yang too. Bruce and Weiss just understand what it means to be held to the expectations of a prestigious family that honestly doesn't fit who they grew up to be. Bruce may be a Wayne, but he only goes to galas and board meetings because he is expected to maintain a legacy as his parent's only child. Weiss wants to live up to her grandfather's legacy as a Schnee, but in her own way not the way her parents tried to do. Gotham and Atlas are cities riddled with problems and they are trying to fix them while finding out how to redefine home, that's why Weiss said she "understood" why Bruce is the way he is. The biggest reason I think Blake got pushed to the side this time is because the last part of the movie she and Yang bonded with Wonder Woman. Jessica and Cyborg bonded with team JNPR but they didn't get to re-explore those bonds in this second part because they needed to focus on the Justice League more since this was their world. They just leaned more into the relationships that applied most to the plot. Doctor Strange operates in the Multiverse, Mirror Master just summons a pocket mirror dimension. Doctor Fate is similar to him but different because the power comes from the helmet and can go to anyone who wears it because he is a Lord of Order but he doesn't operate off of emotion only what protects Order. If you want to see two character that spoof off of each other I would suggest Spider-Man from Marvel and Black Spider from DC since Black Spider was partially made as a joke to Stan Lee because he was good friends with the DC Comic writers. In Young Justice they have Black Spider voiced by Josh Keaton, who voice Spider-Man in the tv show Spectacular Spider-Man, which I always think is funny lol. The hero you called "Shazam" is actually named Captain Marvel and Shazam is just what he says to call on his powers. They couldn't call the movie Captain Marvel because that would have confused people due to the Captain Marvel in the MCU movies, though that character mostly goes by Ms. Marvel.

I know some RWBY fans did not care for these movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed them, I thought they were well done, in my opinion. Edit - I also liked W.A.T.T.S. design. Also, Weather Wizard and Mirror Master are some of The Flash's villains he goes up against in the comics.
