Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy All Ex Bursts

Comments

It is, but I'm putting 16 and 7 first because those are either more geared towards casuals and/or have more anticipation from other members of the DnD community. 16 in particular feels like it was damn near tailor made for them.

JT

Can't forgot FFX tho that's also a great game to start with

Sabian Velez

A lot of the characters on here are in kingdom hearts also u just might not recognize the outfits since they're different but squall or Leon is in KH1 as well as Tifa but she's in all black, Tidus the guy in yellow, sephiroth, and ofc our boi cloud

Sabian Velez

Completely understandable. Take your time to learn and enjoy the franchise at your own pace and I hope you guys will be able to enjoy it as much as us fans.

Pyrodragon3993

We know we are going to do it and probably soon, but we just don't have it firmly worked into the schedule yet to know for sure exactly when.

Bethany and Ken

Right now we recognize that Final Fantasy is a monster franchise with tons of content and very loyal fans, so nothing is ruled out but we don't have a firm plan yet either. We're just looking to ensure that when we dive in more fully we can dedicate the time and do so in a way that makes it a good journey for us and our community.

12:17 That "Poison Ivy chick" isn't so much a character but rather an entity. It's a reoccurring FF villain known as the "Cloud of Darkness", and it served as the final boss for Final Fantasy III. In the world of Final Fantasy III, the Cloud of Darkness tries to return all of existence to "the Void" (the nothingness in which it comes from) whenever there is an imbalance of light and darkness in the world. When such an imbalance occurs, four people are chosen to serve as either Warriors of Light or Warriors of Darkness (depending on which force is too present) in order to resolve the imbalance.

I know I should be angry, but I haven’t heard that in so long, I just felt nostalgic. So thanks and s***w you at the same time.

REDE

I’m especially hoping for the Namco Cross series, because not everyone knows about them.

AlexThat200

I’m actually surprised you two never heard of Tifa. (The lady with the gauntlets) You can’t really look at Final Fantasy stuff without something or someone mentioning the most popular female character of Final Fantasy 7. She was (and still is) a lot of people’s video game crushes and is included in a lot of lists that include hot/sexy female video game characters. Which isn’t to say that’s all she has going for her because she has a significant role in FF7’s story.

AlexThat200

Most of the protagonists having swords is a given. Final Fantasy is a somewhat old JRPG franchise that follows most fantasy tropes. (At least for the first set of games) - A destined hero - A cliche villain that wants to rule/destroy the world - Variety of magic - Fantastical creatures you can battle Final Fantasy started out on the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) in December 1987. And it’s still going on today, with a hardcore enough fanbase to keep it popular.

Since we're on Final Fantasy again, I wanted to discuss a little more about how you two could start with FF7 now that I've done more thinking on it. I still stand by what I said last time in starting Final Fantasy with FF16 first, but I figure these approaches would be of interest to you two when/if the time to check out FF7 comes. 1) Playing the OG FF7 first: While this game is an absolute classic, I don't know if playing it for yourselves would work out the best. While I wouldn't say the game has aged "horribly," there are some elements I could see being a turnoff for you two as casual gamers. The combat can feel slow even with the option to speed battles up, annoying mini-games, and moments where the game isn't abundantly clear about where it wants you to go next. It also doesn't feature voice acting, if that's something that affects your enjoyment of a story in games. 2) Playing FF7 Remake/Rebirth first: While these two games are much more suited for casual/new players, starting with them isn't exactly the greatest way to start either. As other viewers and I have told you, the story of these new FF7 games has been written in a way that expects the player to know of the events of the OG FF7 story. Despite being labeled as "remakes", they're closer to a sequel/soft reboot series of the original game. Taking this approach is the one I'd least recommend. 3) Watching the OG FF7 fandub first: I've recently discovered that there exists a fandub on YouTube for the original FF7. This is the best way that I could suggest to be able to experience the story of OG FF7 w/o having to deal with the gameplay. The voice acting and audio quality in this project are pretty solid, and it's not a parody like DBZA. This approach is the best I could come up with as a sort of "middle ground" option. I will leave the link for it here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLngmVwkiRf4HdDxoBxCQg709WlIhzdaPI&si=Nwtm-tOLKeEY45tA NOTE: At the time of this comment, the project has not yet covered the entirety of the original story. However, it has covered the story up to where FF7 Remake/Rebirth is at right now. Whether the team behind the fandub will have finished the project before the third game in the remake trilogy comes out is something I can't guarantee.

JT

Here’s the thing about Final Fantasy games. Other than the title linking them, most of the games stories are self-contained. They might make some references, or keep some enemies from past games, or even some attack names. But every Final Fantasy has its own world that follows its own laws.

AlexThat200

Do you guys have any plans to watch TFS' Final Fantasy 7 Machinabridged in the future?

Pyrodragon3993

12:23 The character with the gauntlets was Tifa Lockhart from FF7 (which is where Cloud and Sephiroth are from). Haven't played Kingdom Hearts for myself (yet), but I know she was in Kingdom Hearts 2 as part of a brief cameo. She's Cloud's childhood friend who primarily fights via hand-to-hand combat and is widely recognized as one of the most iconic female video game characters, alongside the likes of Lara Croft, Samus Aran, and Chun Li. Won't go much more in depth since I know you two plan to check out FF7 further one day.

JT

Ok so when exactly are you planning on getting to Sparking Zero stuff? The game dropped 5 months ago.

REDE

10:34 Yeah no the final boss of this game (shown here) is still one of the most grandiose and over-the-top fights I've ever witnessed. Shit kicks ass. That "Pennywise smile" character is "Chaos", a reoccurring enemy throughout Final Fantasy, but is most notably the final boss of Final Fantasy I. In Dissidia 012, he's voiced by Keith David.

JT

Been keeping an eye out for this one.
