Old man Takamura is in the weird position of power scaling where few are his current equal and in his prime we know to lil of that scene. I think he was number 2 in his prime. Solely so the Author can pull out some Jank later where Takamura prime equal to another seemingly... stuff goes sideways and Takamura remained while the other became fallen. Pure guess tho.

Anyways, regarding some of your questions: The manga is indeed still going on. That said, the general assumption currently is that it has entered it's final arc. If the current season finishes at the end of an arc, it'll conclude at roughly 1/3rd of the current length of the manga. Overall, we can roughly estimate that this show should could reach anywhere between 80-100 total episodes. Anyways, the background characters in this show are actual a running gag for the manga. They give absolutely no fucks about any of the destruction going on.
