What stands out to me, because I think it’s one of the things that make this world or game unique, is that there are distinct boundaries to the traditional evil, neutral, and good alignments in this story.

The reason brown is used rather than gray like in Baldur's Gate is rooted back in visual color tones in older anime. Having dark elves be gray skinned visually clashed with the aesthetic of anime, which generally used brighter colors. Moving to using brown complimented typical anime colors, thus more appealing to look it, and still got the point across. The positive opinion of the color brown for dark elves in anime eventually stuck long term.

2025-07-08 05:26:13 +0000 UTCI've been reading the novel but its kind of weird, I swear I've seen this story before or a version before and I'm not just talking about overlord style stories with npc's becoming real. I do find the realization of game mechanics into real magic a cool idea because there are so many different game genres you could put in this situation, another novel has clear minecraft mechanics. I think the worst is the random stat lists litrpg genre which is boring and lame, I'd rather see specific unique powers or do the overlord thing where its only in the background or an excuse to pull out new cool powers whenever..

I think the game in question here can be thought of as a mix of starcraft with civilization with a europa universalis level of details. Mynoghra is the name of his favorite civ in the game.
