Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Season 2 Episode 11 Live Reaction (FULL)

Comments

Before episode 12 drops, I wanted to make this long comment; I don't normally bother pointing out what parts of the manga were cut or shifted, since there's just too many to count, but I'm gonna at least attempt to do that for this episode, and maybe the next to give you more context on what's missing; It's up to you if you want to read through it. Though just to be clear, I'm still currently re-reading the manga, and most details will be a bit vague: - There are tons of moments where characters would have inner monologues that provides much needed information or sums up their feelings on whatever situation they're in. - That first scene between D and Angel was originally took place on the surface as Deathmecia was rampaging, which caused a fissure that D fell in, Angel following after him by her fathers orders. And it goes without saying that they both witnessed the emergence of Deathmecia, unlike in the anime; yet he's shown to be aware of his presence for whatever reason. - Suzukiri was also supposed to make a brief appearance in the underground room, telling D that she's giving up on fighting the rangers, officially dissolving their alliance and leaves with the clones. Angel shows up in the middle of the conversation and explains the role of the Dragon Priestess; I can't remember all the details off the top of my head, but to sum up, the clones are basically used as material to create the Divine Artefacts. - There was supposed to be a flashback where Dai Dai provides Angel with the spherical object, a Divine Artefact Replica. He also mentions that was sure she could handle it as a half monster, and that he knew for certain the she was "Special, and the key in the battle to come, more so than even her father". - I think I recall D and Angel actually working together to defeat Aizome, D acting as a decoy to create an opening that Angel took advantage of to deal heavy damage, and then gets injured as she tries to get a second hit in. - Hwalipon is also supposed to be still alive at this point in the story, but they not only sped up the conclusion to his battle with Pink Keeper, they cut out his second form completely. Their fight doesn't even start til AFTER the fight with Aizome. Not to mention the fight itself is longer and more complex. He's also shown streaming the seemingly one-sided battle between Deathmecia and the Dragon Keepers while spreading more truth and whatnot. - It's revealed that there are multiple copies of Hwali hiding in the societies fortress, picking off Pink squadron members one-by-one, but Pink Keeper locates the real one using a divine artefact. There's also scenes with a bunch of named Pink squadron members, all with fun personalities. - There's a long interesting scene with Hibiki (before meeting with his sister) and a red squad member who tries to play dead among his fellow members; I'm not exactly sure if I'd call it an IMPORTANT scene to provides a lot of context, but let's just say it has a lot of impact to it would've made the battle feel more... real and dire. -There's a bunch of moments that take place before D encounters Hisui, but there's a slight chance they'll show them next episode... but knowing the anime, they won't =| they're trying to fit a 10 to 15 chapter climax into a single friggin' episode. Phew, that took a lot outta me, and that wasn't even close to the full picture. Honestly, I don't even think a 48 min long episode could properly flesh out the climax. Here's hoping they at least make it feel impactful.

The amount of content they're skipping is honestly getting ridiculous. I can understand to a certain point why it would be important to trim certain scenes to prevent things from getting stale, but only the parts that don't impede on character development and information that's actually important. This adaptation cuts so much essential content that I don’t even know where to begin; the best I can do is highly suggest that you read some parts of the manga starting from the Monster society arc, to at least get an idea of what's missing. At the pace it’s going, it feels like they’re trying to cram the end of the arc into a single episode—and I genuinely can’t see how they could do that without cutting massive amounts of crucial plot points. It would have made more sense to at least split things up into two cours. Even with all that said, I still hope you—or anyone else—won’t give up on the series entirely. I’m genuinely interested in seeing how people react to where the story goes, but it’s frustrating how few reaction videos there are. And as you know the original manga is still out there, and it’s so much better written with proper pacing. Part of me really wishes you could react to the manga after finishing Season 2, just to see firsthand everything the anime left out… but I get that not everyone has the time or interest to dive into it that way. Of course it's up to you =|

I'm up-to-date with the series. If you want to start from the very beginning, you can do so with the manga. That said, season 1 doesn't feel like it was missing all that much of content for me. If you want some starting points for season 2, I'd argue that you can probably start after the "green squad/school arc" that this season started with, because it covered all the necessary stuff. Definitely would suggest not starting after the end of season 2, though, because there are some notable differences between the manga version and the anime version, in characters involved, aswell as character details, background stories and motivations displayed. For reference, the cut between season 1 and season 2 is pretty much exactly at chapter 51 of the manga. (Which means the first season had roughly 4 chapters per episode.) The first arc of season 2 (school / green squad introduction) was 5 episodes long and covered chapters 52 to 71 of the manga. (Again, 4 chapters per episode) The remainder of season 2 then covered chapters 72 to 125. That's almost 8 chapters per episode, which means a LOT more detail was skipped, with several characters, character stories, plot lines, background stories etc. either missing or being changed to fit the tighter schedule. Essentially, if you want to read further than this season, you should probably start the manga at most at chapter 72, not any later than that.

I never understood why green keeper didn’t kill Suzukiri earlier but I guess if the ranger powers are tied to her being alive it makes sense. Also wonder if the monsters that are still on the satellite will enter the fray, they were watching on TV after all, guessing they would join the side D is on. I might pick up the manga when both the anime and manga is done.

The other officers turned into actual boss monsters that the Ranger Force had been fighting against in the past. Meanwhile, "Deathmecia" seems to be a monster that was supposed to be introduced in the fictional Ranger TV show, but who's episode never aired. So now the dude makes up whatever power it would need... and somehow the serum he took makes it work? This comparison may come out of left field, but I am reminded of the games "World of Tanks" and "World of Warships" from the company "Wargaming". They've introduced almost all historical tanks/ships of the specific time periods in those games already, so to add new stuff they had to come up with things. They first started to include prototypes, then blueprints, then eventually just used ideas that someone wrote down at some point in history. They even have a double-barreled tank in the game, that's being serviced by a single person as the loader. How would a single person load the shells for both cannons? Good question, they wouldn't. You'd need two people for that... but when you're making shit up in the first place, those considerations don't matter.

Is it not me or did not the father who turned into that powerful monster. Had the mindset of your average powerscaler? As he was oh this character has that power and that power plus this. Without it being the authorial intent
