Turn A Gundam kind of did this and created the “Correct Century”set thousands of years in the future and that all the other Gundam universes exist in their own right as the “Dark History” but also together…but Turn A is not popular in the west at all idk if it even got a TV release and it was released in 1999 so everyone in NA was watching Gundam Wing at that point on toonami
